abbyboot replied : BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMP abbyboot replied : B.U.M.P. LOL:):) I'm pretty sure the way DUBAISH laksa soup is: chicken bouillon + red curry paste + coconut milk for the gravy. Best is to go and ask the recipe from Malaysian ppl. Tia

Hi Ladies, After have read all yr mouthfull comments on laksa soup :-), took a taxi to NH in DIFC, ordered one and ate it. heu heu, hem hem, can't comment since the cook apolozised for his Dubaiish laksa soup :-). talking about lemongrass & lime leaves, would be delicous with Tom-Yam soup (thai). Xue: Hi, no problem to answer. I'm a mix of Vietnamese & Chinese/French, but can only speak French, 80% of Vietnamese, my Chinese is very very poor (father speaks Chinese Hokkien :-) from Sing.). Unfortunately, I've never lived in Singapore, but I used to go to Sing with DH for biz trips. Like you, we just moved in AR too, I'd be happy to meet you. I've to be back to France next WE to resign from job and send our furniture to DBX but will be back for good from the second week of March.

Halo, this is the lazy cook speaking :) .....you get really nice Laksa curry paste ( packet) at choitram...no need to add any other spices or anything, the flavour is just perfect :) I add veggies ( thai vegs from lulu very expensive tho!) and coco-milk from a tin, shrimp and chicken ( and pork for those who enjoy it) ..can add extra lemongrass and lime leaves for the fresh fragrance.. ..........mmmm drooling at work! This goes so well with vietnamese rice paper rolls on the side!! Anyone tried those? soo easy to make and so delicious!! love asian food!!!

The Pad Thai and Seshwan chicken....drooool! yeah we love Noodle Factory, the food is really fresh and we like the staff there. This is all going to stop soon as I have to stop eating out all the time!! trousers getting tight and muffin top very visible!

Really? I was able to use mine every time when I ordered it that's strange - it roughly costs the same as a main meal! exactly, same price! maybe its just DIFC branch being fussy! There is a chin chin in Dubai Marina which i tried the other night, food was really good so am gonna have to switch to that instead of NH from now on. I will miss those Wasabi Prawns, singapore noodles, sweet and sour chicken, duck, and soup Oh man, im dribbling now!!

i used to have soup everyday from Noodle House for lunch at work. Never been able to use my entertainer voucher though as they say its not a main meal! I love the hot and sour soup and the laksa too. I love the eggs in it! We ordered take out from there last week. 3 items and it came to 200aed. Not ordering from there anymore. I kept the menus going back a long time so looked at them and the price increases have been happening far too much. 3 price increases in a year.

Hi Paris6, you have posted about Chinese food, singapore laksa, celebrate Chinese New Year, & posted in French too. Just curious & don' mean to be rude about this : - have you lived in Singapore or China too ? - are you French or ... ? Please ignore if it's too personal. We just moved into AR a few weeks ago. BTW ladies, where is NH? I'll go there and ask them for a real singapore laksa style with fish ball, quail egss, deep fried tofu & shrimp :-) If you have tried the real thing, I don't think you will be too satisfied at the NH. At least that's how I felt after giving it three tries. :(

Yep that's right. You can add a little more lemongrass if you want a stronger flavour. I also like to add extra fresh chilli to give it a nice kick!!!

Not sure about the fish balls or eggs...wouldn't put it in there! NH also adds in tofu so ill add in tofu shrimp paste, laksa leave and galanga & lemongrass, but what does galanga mean n where can i buy it? For sure you can find galanga at Lulu's, they look kinda like ginger (but skinnier and yellowish) , and they are usually already packed, not loosely piled like gingers. Just ask the workers to point you to the right ones if you are not sure.

Red curry paste contains dried red chilli, lemongrass, shallots, garlic, salt, kaffir lime, spices (coriander seeds, cumin), shrimp paste and galangal. Damn it, now I want one!!!
