Do visitors have to pay to visit the emergency room at government hospitals? And I know Rashid is for trauma and Al Wasl for maternity/paediatrics, but do they have regular ERs as well? If not, where does?

Sorry so many questions :(

He has COPD (emphysema) and chest infections are potentially very serious for him, so we have to start him on antibiotics and steroids as soon as we can. He carries them with him, but I'm just concerned in case we don't catch it in time :(.

Thanks, Genie. Very much appreciated. You are welcome - hope it is nothing too serious and it does not spoil his time here with you.

Rashid is not just for trauma they see all types of cases. Those considered non urgent are redirected to their 24 hour walk in clinic. Emergencies are free of charge. For non urgent cases there is a charge of 50 dhs for those with a valid DHA health card and 200 dhs for those without valid DHA health card. The same applies Dubai hospital and similar but slightly different (for women and children) at Al Wasl Hospital HTH

Dad got here Monday night and I'm not sure if he has a chest infection :(. My last ER experience at City was terrible so I'm just thinking of options, and if I don't have the hassle of billing departments so much the better. Thanks for your concern as always :) x

Rashid is for any emergency DC. (for adults). (and for trauma for children) For children, for illness = Al Wasl re paying, there have been lots of stories in the past re free treatment but I guess you can't guarantee it Hope all is ok???
