CB, Tower F is East Heights 1. It will prob take a while to get the a/c tweaked properly in Tower G, it's never been used before so there will probably be a few trips required by the guys in each apartment until it's sorted. When we moved in there seemed to be different guys for the a/c electrical part and the district cooling part (of the same system) so just keep ringing them out til it's sorted. Your apartment should be pretty cool with no a/c switched on. Did everyone get the brochure from Valery Salon which has opened on the mezzanine level? Yay!

Cdindubai, glad it all went smoothly. We are in tower g and seem to have the same problem. I am goin to ring tge maintenance guys again at the weekend over the aircon one bedroom not working at all and yes we should be able to get below 25 degree shouldn't we. Mind you my empower cold air in tge living room is good. I'm not sure where f is but think it's the one next to us which I think is the far side of London diary. Anyway I know another scottish family moving into your tower the first week in July onto the 8 th floor. Hope the children are settling in ok. I think my crew are happy enough we are heading hope to the cold and wetness of Ireland on the 12 but glad we are settle enough to look forward to coming back Talk soon maybe

Hi Bawn, I just moved into the apartment this weekend. It went very smoothly but I didn't have much stuff to bring as I am quite new to Dubai and have been staying with friends. Had a few maintence bits and bobs but the Idama guys have been pretty good about sorting things. I haven't been told my parking space yet - I need to go to the office to find out about it, although I guess at the moment it doesn't make any difference but it will be nice to be prepared in case it all changes one day. Which tower are you in Bawn? I am in Tower L. Also does anyone know which Tower F is, i.e. West/East Heights...? Went to try and find the office on Thursday but ended up in Tower J. I am not sure that my A/C is working brilliantly but not sure if I am just being fussy. It has taken two days for my living room to get down to 22C and it doesn't seem to want to go any lower - is this normal? Also, can't get my bedroom below 24C and that is just too hot for me (I'm from Scotland :))! Thanks.

I forgot to mention - I saw someone on here had asked about an orthodontist for their daughter. I'm not sure if you've found one yet but I have braces myself (very attractive at my age) and I use Dr Lina at Nicolas & Asp at Marina Walk. Potentially not the most convenient place for ET (I was living at that end of town when I joined) but she seems to be quite good. She charges 450AED per visit and generally has me in every 5-8 weeks. I have the Damon clear system. Hope this helps.

Hi ladies! I have finally sorted out an apartment (after much turbulence and heartache) and will be moving in next weekend! Super excited! However, I still face the horrible task of trying to find a 90x60cm electric cooker that isn't a ridiculous price so if anyone else is leaving and selling one or has any recommendations on where to get one - I would love to hear about it! Thanks!

Lol fair enough! Whether the two pools are open or not its the same story. My theory is that management are too cheap to properly maintain the pools so they obviously cut a bunch of corners in the initial building (hence all the mosaic tiles falling off). Secondly, heating and cooling pools costs money, I presume they just switch them on and off for additional cost saving. To keep everybody happy they will have one pool warm. I mean these pools have thermostats so maintaining a constant temperature should be easy, it just costs money. Anyways thats just my thoughts!!!

SEY, i've been here 2.5 yrs too (i've been a few different people on this thread. LOL!) I meant the weather will be hotter so we might appreciate the baltic-arctic-pool lol. I have a theory about the pool temp. They prob have one set of cooling thing for both pools, so because one is closed we are getting colder temps in one? Would that make sense??! just a theory.

the little pool in East Heights has been closed for a little while, and the middle pool is really quite chilly. It will be nice in a month or so but it's cold for the current outside temp. I don't know how long you've been in ET MPH but it will never be nice! They never get it right. I've been here two and a half years and its always the same. Saturday is our family swimming day, so three Saturdays we went down. The small pool was open but freezing, the middle pool was great - fantastic temperature, warm rather than cold, it was really enjoyable - the large pool was cold. So because the middle pool was so great, two Saturdays ago we went down and I decided to take my 11-month baby as well. We get down, the small pool is closed off, the medium pool was freezing, and the large pool was okay but leaning towards the cold side. We ended up alternating between the large pool and sitting in the jacuzzi, but didn't really enjoy either. It's so frustrating that they can't get it right. It would be okay if the pool temperatures were consistent, even if that meant they were colder - at least you go down knowing what to expect. I hate getting everybody excited about swimming and then we cant swim properly. I really hope the pool closure means they sort out the issues now. We have frequently used the pools throughout the whole year, and the issue is always the same.

DH emailed Taziz regarding west heights pool - it's been delayed till the end of June now. Seriously??? Plus why did they decide to do this maintenance work right when people decide to start using the pool?? All I can say is the water had better be of an acceptable temperature...I'm sick of taking my kids down and then having them swim in the jacuzzi or taking them back home because the water is freezing!!! And apparently they're going to close the East Heights pool once the West Heights pool reopens...

Were there any veggie options for main courses, or all with meat? Thanks :) There were no veggie mains when we were there. Sorry.

what were the choice of main courses when you went Etait? There was a chicken thigh in a red sauce and a meatloaf stuffed cabbage leaf, which is what we had. Really tasty. I started with the ceaser salad and DH had the mushroom soup.

When did you secure your deal though S&O? It seems things have changed a lot over just the last month or two, prices seem to have gone up and a lot less availability. (apart from Tower G which has just opened).

Ladies, Thank you so much for your quick replies. If anyone is leaving anytime soon and has a 90x60cm electric cooker that they would like to sell then please give me a shout. (Or if anyone has managed to buy one for a reasonable price then please do let me know where from - they seem to be so expensive). The viewings went well and I love the layout of the tower K apartments - just hoping to find one with a slighly better view. Does anyone happen to know if any of the other buildings have the same layout - I have seen apartments in L, G and K now and while they were all amazing K was my personal favourite. Christelkoko - a 3 bedroom apartment varies between 108,000 (tower G) to 130,000 - there are a couple at 140,000 but I think even the estate agents are telling the LL that this is too much. The REWA rental index says that 3 bedrooms range between 85,000-105,000 but I think this has some catching up to do, which is probably a result of all the recent development/openings. Hope this helps. Thanks again for the responses! There are still a lot of empty apartments in ET they are trying it on with the prices, there are some 3 beds listed on dubizzle at 110k but that should be a starting point for negotiation, we dropped our price down by 30k... it can be done! there are always buildings coming online, and some with much better finishes!, if they need to rent they need to rent, end of story, try and bargain with them.

We ate at the Canteen last week. Definately just a buffet. Choice of salad or soup, then choice from 2 mains and a few sides inc drink was only 35Dhs per head. They do take away but you have to phone and they tell you what is on offer for that day rather than a menu. It was nice but we were really hoping it would be full menu like Suvoroff in JBR. Wouls be good for a quick eat.
