Thanks "tatty head" :)) for that, good idea...!! if we move in I'll do the same....although tempted to see if they will install a cooker hood and devise for the vent to be placed in kitchen ceiling a long as there is some outlet there for the fumes to be expelled. Our dryer will reequire an outlet of some sort too, question is where to place it, so lots to think about before I make a decision.... Again, thank you!

Hi KCQ. Ask away ;) i've never smelled anything from anyone else's apartment, in our apartment. ocasionally if we get out of the lift and can tell our neighbour is whipping up an arabic feast I am tempted to ring her bell and ask if we can have a takeaway, but it does not permeate in to our apartment. Having no cooker hood or windows in the kitchen has never bothered me. If I am frying fish or something, I'll just open the balcony door for a while and light an incense stick.

I finally viewed some of the places!! Some odd stuff though, the two bedroom and the three bedroom haven't got the same allocated spaces for cookers and refrigerators! IMHO that is just bizarre, what were they thinking?!!! (OK not thinking? :)) Also no cooker hoods....and no options for installing them. Bear in mind the kitchens I viewed had no windows, have any of the kitchens got windows? Again, dark wooden cupboards in enclosed areas w/no natural light, rather oppressive. Yikes, it sure makes me wonder who designs these kitchens and more importantly, who approves them?!! The Podium villas -- unfortunately way over my budget but good to get a glimpse. One thing that would probably get on my nerves is that the apartments in the area enrouch in close proximity. Anyway, I have a question for you all living there...do you tend to get cooking smells infiltrating from neighbours? I ask this because as we came out of the elevator on one of the floors, it was like stepping into downtown Ravi's (;-P)...!!! Since the apartment door was open, the smell lingered and I am naturally concerned that if this is the case, then our clothes and soft furnishings will be affected. TIA, I really do appreciate some feedback regarding this issue.

It's great to see some families are going to be here over the summer. The pool was SOOO lovely last summer, late afternoon like 3.30/4pm onwards, a welcome respite from the heat and great for the LOs to burn their energy! It would be great if we had some regular days over the summer hols for some of the LOs to get together. Welcome, to all the newbies to ET. :)

Hey everyone! We're considering moving into the executive towers this september, and I've seen advertisments for private pools in apartments. Has anyone experienced apartments with private pools, are they on the terace or inside and how private are they? edited by Narjess on 23/05/2012

Hi everyone, I'm a 19 year old, expat girl who doesn't post on here very often, but I'm being brave :) I reside in one of the towers and I've read this thread with interest and noticed lots of families moving in. I know that a lot of people have maids, but not everyone does. So I thought I'd introduce myself and let you all know that I'm available for babysitting if you need it. It's so much nicer now that people are moving in and the shops are opening up, it's feeling much more homely and less like a ghost town. Oh and the sushi place is great, expensive, but verrry yummy! I should stop drooling and get back to studying...

Hi Everyone Super duper excited ! We're moving to Dubai in July.....family of 5. We've been to Dubai twice a year for the past 4 years, so not so new to Dubai ..... but I guess living there is different ! Two days ago my husband, while in Dubai, rented a 4 bedroom podium villa in tower G. Just looking for some info as this is a new tower. Are there any issues with this tower as it is new ? Can't find much about it. We were originally looking into places in Jumeirah, but the houses just seemed so old....and the newer ones were out of our budget. I liked the look of the podium villas online. There's so much info on this thread ! Would love to meet up with other mummies and children..... I have two boys and a girl ....11, 10 and 8. I've already read a lot of posts on the executive towers....thanks for all the information...I'm going to be a regular here ! edited by dxbmum3 on 22/05/2012

Thanks Ban-Moi, No, I have not tried Better Homes, I was advised to avoid them as they usually ask for higher rentals and apparently not interested in assisting in any post rental issues. I'll check them out online.

have you tried Better Homes www.bhomes.com It is also worth a visit to the Sales Centre and enquiring about apartments in Tower G which was just released recently. Though I'm not sure if they get involved in rentals but may be a step in the right direction... From here to DM there are a few routes. One is SZR and then immediate right on to Doha Street/Financial Centre road and then the normal entry to DM. Another is through the roads at the back of Millennium Tower and from Downtown. Another would be again from behind Millennium Tower but from the road which passes DM metro station and through Emaar Sq.

I have been "trying" to view 2 or three bedroom apartments in Executive Towers and have failed miserably in getting agents to show me any. I am told they are all full ! How exactly do you get to the Towers from DXB Mall? If I just show up, will the receptionist on duty allow me to view any vacant ones? Any feedback perhaps w/reliable agents name will be most appreciated. TIA

Although everyone has been given an allotted space, these are not yet being enforced (and probably won't be until the buildings are 100% full and when the barriers are all installed properly and people are using their access cards). Until then it's a free for all, well it is in our building! I've never parked in my space once and don't even know where it is. Have you thought about approaching your neighbours upstairs, or passing a note under the door of everyone above you (cumbersome but it might work). Alternatively, you could install a net above your balcony that would catch anything falling down and keep your balcony clean.

Can anyone explain to me why in the towers no one parks in their own parking space? we have just moved it and was quite annoyed yesterday when we could not park in our own space, we left notes on the said cars, whose owners then took the notes to security, surely if you rent an apartment and you get told your parking space number you park in it? in every other apartment we have lived in we have never had this problem with parking? also cigarettes seem to be an issue in our garden, it would appear someone who lives above us smokes and chucks their dirty cigarette butts straight into our garden, at first we thought that the people before had just left them but now its been cleaned, butts are still appearing every hour. We have complained to security but dont you think this is rude, how else can i get them to stop???

Two things you should all check in your tenancy contracts: 1. Who pays the standard quarterly Empower charge (flat fee) 2. Ensure LL is paying the service fees

you are not allowed gas AT ALL in these towers, in any shape or form, for obvious reasons. I believe the fire which wiped out an entire block recently in ghusais was caused by someone having a gas barbecue on their balcony. You will not be allowed to bring gas bottles in to the building. Balcony furniture does fit on the balconies, some are larger than others, even the small balconies can fit a few chairs/a small table on them. White goods are not provided as standard, but your LL may provide this or if you are the 2nd tenant maybe some would be left. The towers have various different layouts and various different views as they are all angled slightly differently, there is no particular view or tower which is preferrable, it will depend on what you want to see (Burj K, the sea, city view etc) and at which angle you want to face (sunset, sunrise etc). You'll really need to see a good few before you choose ;)

Hello Is anyone leaving a 1 bedroom flat ( 1200 sq feet or more) in the coming two weeks? I would like to rent from an owner directly to save the agency fees. Otherwise for ladies who rent in the new tower G, which agent or person did you deal with to get your flat? Any help is very appreciated, thanks in advance Papaye
