For some reason forgot that my visa expires on July 1st and just found out while booking tickets for a trip in August. I'm guessing there is a fine I have to pay for this, does anyone know how much per day? Also I need to get a medical done, can I go to any hospital or are there certain centers across Dubai that do this? Any info will be appreciated. Tia

If you do not want to wait in line amd don't mind paying extra, go to the VIP clinic at Al Safa Clinic in Jumeira 2 behind Union Co-0p. All results are done in 24 hrs. Great super fast service!

I had to renew mine last week. I always got to Baraha hospital (next to Dubai hospital) to do the medical - probably because it was the only place to do it when we moved to Dubai so always go back. I was not looking forward to it as it's usually rammed but I was advised to go just before it reopens in the afternoon - got there at 4:45 and got paperwork done before it opens at 5. It was so easy, I've never seen it so empty! Let me know if you need directions for inside the hospital. I went for the medical last Tuesday and got a text on Saturday to say that my medical report was done and was with immigration and my husband (he's my sponsor) went to Immigration at the Trade Centre and got my visa done on Sunday.

nat123, I just called Dubai Immigration and spoke with a Ms Hind 04-3980000 press #2 then #1 ask for Hind she is very helpfull .. she answered my questions eloquently ... only thing is im not familiar with your situation ie on husbands sponsor or visit visa so please call her. You are such a star, thank you for doing that for me :) I just called and Hind was on another call. Spoke with a nice gentleman and he said that there is indeed a 30 day grace period, I think he sensed that I was worried so he told me to first calm down, and then go to any government hospital and get my blood test done. Phew I'm so relieved. Thanks to everyone who responded!

I have had my UAE residence visa cancelled, so have 30 days after that to leave...but I will need to stay a few days after the 30 day period ends...asked at the airport the other day how much the fines were for overstaying and the Immigration guy said AED 125 for the first day and then AED 25 after that for subsequent days. Not sure if that applies to overstays on all visa types though....

There is a 30 day grace period however you can go to the Immigration department near the Trade Centre roundabout and renew for another month but it isnt cheap and i don't know what they will charge you for overstaying when your visa has ended. They are very helpful in there.

nat123, your company PRO should be able to tell you if you have one. Or call Immigration or check AME info even check Gulf news for updates as here they change laws nearly on a daily basis. Last time I had somone overstay the daily fine was either 100 or 200 AED a day but that was years ago. Can't remember about the medicals though ... good luck !

If your visa expires - don't you have 30 days from date of expiry? I think for medicals you need to go to the Iranian (don't quote me tho!) Sorry should have mentioned a friend of mine told me there is no grace period of 30 days and I can't find any info online...
