Ok I have a new LG microwave with oven and grill facility. The instructions miss out a few things (after reading and re-reading!)
Do you use the metal tray/glass rotating plate when cooking using the convection oven?

Sorry to ask such a daft question!

yep, you keep the glass one in as normal and put another round metal tray on top (you should've got the metal one with it too). I only used one for the first time last month and was dubious at first - love it now though!

Once you get the hang of your new oven you'll be delighted with it. I use the convection oven all the time and hardly ever use the regular oven. It's convenient too having it on the bench top so no bending down to check how things are cooking. I've found that mine seems to cook more quickly than the regular oven so that might be something to bear in mind when you start using it.

I had a Panasonic microwave/ convection oven and yes, I did use both the glass rotating plate plus the metal tray when using the machine on grill and convection settings, mainly to promote even cooking.

We've only got a glass rotating thingy in our microwave/convection oven, so can't help you there, really. One thing I do know for sure, is never use metal in the microwave. Much damage will be done if you do, or so I'm reliably informed!
