I had a Indian/Pakistani man in his early 30's well dressed in a Black shirt and black pants, follow me around MOE, at first I thought it was just a co incident that he was going where I was going, however when I purposely turned and went the other way he also did, I started to feel very uncomfortable so I went into Home Centre and waited until he left, then realised he was waiting outside again. I ended up going to security as I felt very uncomfortable and didn't want to walk alone to the car park, there was not much the security could do as he had actually done nothing wrong.... but they did walk me to my car. But I understand how you feel as it is extremely frightening.

A smartly dressed man follows a lone female at night across a road to her isolated car in a dimly lit car park, makes no effort to attract her attention and then tries to get her to open the window of her locked car - definitely suspicious behaviour. As Couch Potato says, report it to Al Ameen and also mention to the gym so that they can keep an eye open for him - it may not be the first time he's followed one of their members. If he'd been a salesman or a beggar, I doubt he'd have waited until you were in the car to get your attention, he would have said " Excuse me, ma"am" and tried to tell you what he wanted when he was just a few paces behind you. Please, please report it you don't want some other poor woman going through that or worse. And if you ever suspect someone is following you again, don't carry on walking towards somewhere dark and isolated; alter your route and head somewhere safer with other people.

A smartly dressed Asian sounds like a salesman to me. I had similar once, but in an outdoor car park in the day time, so not unnerving. The Asian guy was dressed as you said, and he didn't have leaflets with him either. He went and got a leaflet from his car after speaking to me. I think he was selling water filtering systems or something. Perhaps they don't have leaflets with them as people then know they're trying to sell something and avoid them! Rather an unnerving way of going about your business though, if that's what it was. They shouldn't be approaching women like that - don't they realise how scary it can be? Salesman or not you did the right thing.

Joc, I'd report this to Al Ameen. It could all be perfectly innocent, but then again it may not. The police will have CCTV of the area and be able to see what this guy is up to.

I'm glad you were able to get to your car quickly! It clearly wasn't you being paranoid because he did try to talk to you, he wasnt just a casual passerby. Could be harmless like he was selling DVDs or something, but its always best to be safe! Theres a lot of scary stories even in Dubai :(

Not that you are asking, but you did the right thing. Its not a circumstance I would like to be in at all. I have been approached near my car a few times and I do not stick around to find out too much more. Mostly I think its because I look like I have CHUMP tattooed on my forehead.
