I sent an email complaining of the poor programme schedules particulary with BBC Entertainment and BBC Lifestyle and here is the response. One issue I raised is why they showed 10 (yes ten) back-to-back episodes of a celebrity chef programme yesterday!!!!!

I would like to thank you for your email regarding BBC Lifestyle and BBC Entertainment; we understand your frustration and are working towards improving the programming on both channels. To give you a bit of background, BBC controls the editorial content of BBC Entertainment and BBC Lifestyle and these feeds are passed on to us from Europe, which we in turn broadcast. We do understand your concern with the channels and we have addressed these issues to the BBC and we will forward yours regarding the programming. We are working with the BBC to overhaul both channels as we do understand the requirement for them to provide compelling programming to our subscribers. BBC Entertainment will be launching new programming from September 1 and we hope that it will satisfy you and other fellow subscribers. We continue to strive to provide the best Western programming in the region and we hope you continue to remain a subscriber of ours. I assure you that we are continuously working on improving channels that we believe our subscribers are unhappy with and we hope that you will find the new programming satisfying.

I agree - it's the constant repeats , and wall to wall cookery programmes that annoy me! Watching the film Nativity in December was amusing, but still having it on in June.....:( I have just scanned through the channels and there isn"t one film on at the moment that is new! Comedy series are way too old and out of date. Sport - yeah right, what sport. And the HD channels. What a waste. We have decided to cancel OSN, as we are watching more and more MBC, or downloads/DVD's. I will keep my Firstnet package at AED 70 a month so I will still get SKYnews and Granada, but everything else is going, going.....GONE!

Yesterday and today, the same episode of a program was repeated within the space of 6/7 hours !! For what we are paying it's ridiculous

Yes, its the repeats that get me, and yesterday there was 3 solid hours of 'antiques road show' back to back....YAWN!

If u know someone in uk with sky package they are allowed one remote sky connection that you can use and watch independently via internet. If your broadband connection is good enough it works well

It is the constant repeats on all the channels I am fed up with. I don't watch much television and yet I can guarantee that if I sit down to watch something, it will be a repeat. It is so refreshing when I go home to watch programmes I haven't seen before. Personally I would not bother with a television subscription here but DH insists on having it. :)
