I want to buy gold earrings for someone for CHristmas in a fairly simple Western style.

The jewellers all seem to have either very ornate designs or mainly diamond jewellery.

Any ideas? Would the gold and diamond park be worth a visit do you think?

Carrefour are pretty good however I don't like the fact (and this happens in a lot of places) that people actually try them on - am not sure how/if they are cleaned. I buy all my jewellery from Rejee (think that's how its spelt) and they are always fabulous, they're also happy to make up your designs (and it only takes a few days)- I've had a ring and some earrings made and am taking mum there when she comes over to get some earrings made out of garnets I bought her in Sri Lanka.

Well it isn't very glamorous, but I bought a beautiful pair for my daughter from MOE Carrefour. They don't have many, but there may be some to suit you. Also, less hassle from the seller!!
