We are in process of finalizing the sale for our apartment and we are thinking of buying a town house or a bungalow in Green Community. I was just hopping to get some advise from you ladies on what are the pros and cons of the area and if you would recommend a town house or a bungalow? We have a 14 months old son, any good nurseries, schools in the area?
Thanks

Sweetybeety, will keep my eyes open, but in the meantime, can recommend Allsopp & Allsopp Estate Agents. A guy called Darren deals with all rentals and sales in the Green Community and was very knowledgeable, reliable - and patient!

One more thing, is the chiller fees (Emicool) on the Tenant or Landlord?

We are thinking of moving to one of the bugalows in July. was worried about the running cost though (Emicool- Dewa - Water). Can anyone currently living in the bugalows advice how much does it cost monthly for the above? I heard Emicool would be around 2000 (800 bugalow share + 1200 own consumption) + 300 for the garden water + 1000 Dewa (Consumption + Housing fees) = around 3K monthly whichk is 36K on top of the rent. Is this true? it would be too expensive then i believe.

We have recently bought one of the bungalows in Green Community West and really like it here. My kids are older, but we love the open space for them to play and explore in safety. The size of the rooms are really good, especially when you compare to what ypu get in other areas (and we spent months exploring all options!) Apparantly the local school and nursery is good, although our children go to DBS. The roads are getting better all the time, so access seems set to improve in the future. It does seem that the prices are going up here as people are starting consider this area as another option as it's not as far away as they thought! Totally agree with loube - it's a lovely place to live!

The East is on the same piece of land as Marriott, the West is across the road...anyhow both are very nice. We live on East and are moving to West shortly (just cause we want the private pool). East is greener as it is older therefore more established, but IMO the villas are better design in the West than the East, but some say slightly smaller as a result. I think the villas in the East have a lot of wasted space compared to the West. Townhouse I would imagine is similar story. Park n shop is opening in Sept, we have choitrams and spinneys in the vicinity, more shops will be opening in the mall soon. the only thing missing is a dentist. altho I have been told there is one in the clinic. Thriving Ladies group, with functions breakfasts etc being held in the Marriott, and I think there is a quiz night at the Premier Inn, and probably a few other things which you will find out about if you move here. Good Luck! We love it here and do not want to move away! IBN Battuta only 6 km drive away..and Dubai Marina 15 mins edited by loube on 13/05/2012

Green Community West has villas and bungalows with larger gardens. Good schools and nursery schools to choose from in the area.
