Make sure they don't see all your hand luggage when you check in. I usually have my handbag with me, but keep my little trolley out of sight if I know I'm going to have too much luggage. Good Luck!!! LOL yes, that certainly works sometimes. But airline staff do know thats the oldest trick in the book. If you have staff at the boarding gate that are not slackers and are actually doing their job then you can definitely get pulled up for this at the boarding gate and made to check it in there. :D

If it's more than 7kg, you have to pay and they make you check it in... You can often get away with a little bit over the limit, but don't push it - particuarly if you have a very large suitcase to check in as well.
