I applied a couple of times for jobs at the British Embassy and I have lots of experience back home in the UK working for local government/MOD....never heard anything back at all.....

Try and see them in person - even if it you only get as far as reception. It's always easier to remember a face... Good luck with the red tape :)

have been applying from months so far...and just like you dubaisquirrel i downsize my cv or improve it to fit their criteria...but so far no luck.. This just goes to show that there a many people using the same approach for role that only has one opening. So don't get discouraged, you may have to apply to hundreds of positions before even getting acknowledgement.

If thats the case then yes would imagine they have to be seen posting it publicly as a matter of ethics, more than likely there is a spouse , internal or someones aunty , uncle , cousin etc. waiting to step in as is such the case especially in Dubai. Maybe give them a call if you can get through just to completely rule it out. Good Luck , something else will come up it always does :)

Interview, what interview?!! I have applied for numerous jobs which I have been more than qualified to do, even watered down my CV to fit the job description but it seems to me that these are just advertised as a matter of course, could be wrong !!!!!!!!!
