Hi,

We found a very small kitten, I'm guessing 3 or 4 weeks old (his eyes are open but he's still unsteady on his feet) on our porch this evening. Apparently there was a mother and 2 other kittens hanging around this morning but I've not seen the mother or other kittens this evening and there was a neighbourhood male stalking about this evening so thought it safest to lift the kitten.

I went out and bought whiskas kitten food and he's had some but I think he still needs milk too. He's in our bathroom at the moment as we have 2 adult cats and 3 dogs. I started a full time job today so the timing's anything but ideal.

Does anyone, preferably in Satwa or Jumeira 1 or 2, have any kitten milk and could let me know what he really needs.

Thanks

I love the photo but he looks so small! He definitely seems to have settled in - thank you so much. Sals B, my first stop would usually have been a vet's but I'd just got in from work and it was a bit urgent. Very pleased that he is now getting all the care and attention that he needs.

Thank you all so much, especially Kristina who now has another tiny mouth to feed! My 4 year old was in floods of tears this morning when she was told that the kitten had gone to someone who could look after it properly - the fact that we have 2 cats and 3 dogs was no consolation! Thank you ladies for all that you do. xx He is doing super!! He is already great friends with other 4 LOs, they play, sleep, eat together!! Here is a picture! ;) http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150891532920500&set=o.106075079440617&type=1&theater edited by Kristina_rmnv on 25/10/2011

Please try and get to a vet and buy the baby milk, If you have a fleece type dressing gown, wrap baby in it. Keep LO nice and cozy. If you can please don't feed Whiskers, buy baby Royal Canine. Baby will need milk for a few weeks, give plenty of cuddles. edited by salsB on 24/10/2011

seems like you have help :). It will be pretty hard for you to care for the little mite unless you are home so possibly Kristina can add him to her brood eventually. Once he is steady on his feet he can joint her 5 :)...they should accept him quickly and he will have other kittens to teach him manners :)...good luck. To join my 8...lol All 8 are now fine, 4 are mine 4 little guests, will not be very long before thy all love each other!! :) edited by Kristina_rmnv on 23/10/2011

Thank you so much. He's had some wet food and is now asleep curled up in a box with a towel and one of my children's teddies. Kristina, so kind of you to offer. I can go out and get him kitten milk but can't do 3 hour feeds - his timing's pretty off, I've not had a full time job for a while! Please can you email me jo and fraser at yahoo dot co dot uk. Thanks so much x

Do not give him regular cow milk - if he is about 4 weeks old you can give him kitten milk from the vet - ask there if he can graduate to a combo of kitten milk and a wet food - it makes a real mess of them but it's amazing how fast they catch on and learn to clean themselves. Be careful the heating blanket isn't too hot (it's just as bad as being cold) I've had luck with bunched up polar fleece blankets (he can dig in as much as he needs). One kitten used to sleep in my clean laundry basket - bury herself under however many layers and climb out when dinner was served.

hi , i currently have 4 foster kitten 7 weeks old, i got them when they were 5 weeks old. I have milk, heating blanket and everything else (but i live in Mirdiff), if you cant keep him for long, i can foster him. Or you can buy milk in pet shops, its Royal Canin Kitten milk, he needs feeding at least every 3 hrs max, bathroom is ok, just make sure he is kept warm, also if he has trouble going t the toilet, you need to massage his tummy with olive oil (in rounds) until he does it. Hope it helps. xx
