Hi, in the end we decided to go with Tool Time as Jim will Fix It didn't do packages. We managed to negotiate a six month contract with Tool Time to try them out. First job they failed on. Middle of summer, bedroom aircon died and they couldn't get me a quote for new part until like several weks later! Had to get someone else to do it. Was not impressed. Think I may just wing it after contract runs out.

At the moment, I'm not going to say that Jim will fix it is much better. Full of enthusiasm when I called but it seems to have become a hassle for them and the price quoted finally on email was different to the quote over the phone fir particular parts. The final straw is an apology via email for the delay but the delay was because they have had other important jobs to do. huh? Aren't all customers important? Has anyone used Renovo?

Another steer clear of MAB from us, they are really awful, no communication, very poor working standards, workers sorry to say are not clean and smell. I have complained on numerous occasions and make sure I am out now when they are coming as I cant bear it! have heard good reports about Jim'll Fix It.

I have no idea of annual maintenance costs as we just get thing fixed as they break, which is most of the time! Do you have to have a maintenance contract, only we have never had one? Call them for a quote. They probably are more expensive but I was sooo sick of paying these morons money for old rope. Here is almost like Spain, full of "I wanna be builders" who wouldn't know their @r$e from their elbow!

We use H&G, but I cannot believe what a nightmare the experience has been! They are always late, never call, I have to chase up appointments to confirm and then they back out, and then the tradesperson turns up at planned etc... Case in point yesterday. I had called them on the weekend to fix our broken air con. I was waiting to hear back from them about the quote for the new motor. Me: Hi, I had a missed call from you about 10 minutes ago, sorry I've been in a meeting. This is my address ____. Them: Sorry madam we have no quotes for that address. Me: Are you sure? Pls check again. My address is ____. Them: Hang on madam, I transfer you. Then repeat whole process with 3 new attendents. Then finally: Them: All sorted madam, payment has already been approved. Me; What? Who approved it? No one has spoken to me. Them: Yes we try to call you madam but no response, but no problem, approved madam. Me: You called me but didn't leave a voicemail message. This is the first time I have rung back to find out, so how could I have approved it? Them: No madam, we rang and payment approved. Me: Okay, what number did you ring? Them: ____ Me: That is not my number. Them: That is because we don't have your number madam. Me: What? Then how did you give me a missed call earlier? Plus, I did ask for the quote to be emailed, instead of calling on the phone. Them: We don't have your email address madam. Me: But you emailed me a quote for something else only two weeks ago! And on it went... :\: Haha WB You're winding us up surely??? I posted on another thread regarding Jim will fix it . British run, Give quotes, turn up on time- why don't you ask them to give you a quote for your maintenance??? I was so going to kill the next injun that turned up with a lightbulb on the end of a piece of flex to test my wiring...... I feel your frustrations.....;) Yes, complete nightmare... Sigh, each time I deal with them I want to shoot myself! How much are Jim Will Fix It? I got a quote from them before we moved house for some other maintenance work, and they were about double the cost of other companies. That said, I guess you're potentially paying for better service too!

We used to be with H&G - nightmare! So switched to Tool Time and have been with them for about 4 years now. They are okay, as good as many companies in Dubai if you know what I mean! :D We actually don't live in Dubai anymore but rent our house out. The tenants seem happy with them and the good thing is Tool Time email us with the quote (and they haven't ripped us off in any way so far) and as soon as we give the go ahead they do the work and then we send them a cheque... no problems, they don't insist on being paid up front or anything and are quite happy to get the money when the cheque arrives which obviously takes a few days. All in all they seem to be fine.

I've got to renew my maintenance contract and would love to hear your views on the above companies. I have been with H&G for a while and they are v good but they will not budge on price one bit and are the most expensive of them all (AED 9,200 per annum). Tool Time and MAB have come back with similar prices (around AED 5 to 6,000) and Quick Fix are AED 4,000. MAB and Quick Fix are my bottom choices as MAB are not punctual and Quick Fix is a newish company so not sure what their record is like. So I'm leaning to Tool Time. What do you think? Much appreciated!
