DH still fears some of the Twilight Zone eps, especially the plane ep. Any previous watchers should know which one! As for me, I hate the concept of horror all together. I don't see it as "entertainment" which I look for in my media of choice. Although I do think The Others and The Sixth Sense are not your traditional take on horror, that's the limit of what I consider entertaining under this genre.

Amityville Horror the newest one not the one from the 60's, it is based on a true story.....google the history of the house and you will get the idea...the house apparently is up for sale for the bargain price of $1.6 million!! Have fun.

Agree with simpleasabc that Don't Look Now is a wonderfully scary little film. Two others I find scary, though not necessarily horror films, maybe more noir-ish, are Night of the Hunter and Cape Fear . Both films (late 1950s, early 60s) star Robert Mitchum -- he can be so so menacing on screen. Agree, all three truly scary, as oppposed to shock horror slashers..........sometimes, less is more.

I cant watch horror movies, they terrify me. Me too and I don't watch them. I thought Wolf Creek was a true story, so I thought it couldn't be that bad as the characters had escaped to tell their story. My mistake!

Oh I love a good horror or psychological thriller. The last two I watched were The Strangers and Eden Lake. The latter is a low budget british horror/thriller which had me holding my breath for the last half hour. It was a little slow to start but then really got going!!!!!! Ooh... Watched Eden Lake the other week! Totally freaked me out for a couple of days!!

Poltergeist for sure... i did watch The Box the other day and not really scary so much as wishing you could turn the clock back but being helpless based on taking an un unknowingly bad decision... gave me quite a nightmare when i went to sleep (softhead i know)

My first horror movies were Nightmare on Elm Street and Jaws. Both scared me so much that I was well nto my twenties before I saw a horror movie again. Wolf's Creek is another movie that was really, really scary ( Australia became the last place on earth I wanted to visit).

Paranormal activity I Didnt really scare [i'>while [/i'>I was watching it, but two nights later...nope, cant watch it again. My reaction exactly - stayed with me for a looooong time. No way will I watch it again. There are two endings though - I think I saw the one with the scarier ending but I have no intention of checking that out by watching the alternative one! it was on showtime 2 nights ago - scary scary scary! Thank goodness I did not even catch a glimpse of it - would have set of the night horors for me again!

"The Innocents" (1961) - (From Henry James' "The Turn of the Screw" Saw that on telly when I was 12, didn't see another horror film till I was 18 and went to see "Don't Look Now". Do not watch horror films ever now. i've seen 'turn of the screw' as an opera and it wasn't too scary, but when i read it (back when i was 16) it scared the living day lights outa me. it's one of my favorite reads!
