I've noticed that sns value the items, ,including the delivery fees. I had the case 2 times were I was careful of the price, which was under the taxes limit, and got taxes because sns included the delivery - which was 20$ as I ordered express.
I almost called them, then thought too bas for me... but did you have the same situation?
I have been corresponding with alas for a month. I had a $40 sweatshirt stopped at customs because it had been valued by SnS new York at $365. Despite sending copies of invoice to alaa on christmas day, they tried to deliver it on new years eve, with 173dhs customs duty plus 41dhs delivery. I called them after I got the SMS and they assured me it was a mistake and they would contact the driver.
Who tried to charge me 214dhs.
I refused.
Contacted alas again, and again, and am waiting to have a return call.
Still no package.
Wouldn't be any good to me now anyway, it was a gift for my uncle's 70th birthday, on January 9th.
What's worse
I paid the shipper $13 extra to have it express delivered to NY!
why would they value it so much higher ?

Ty to all of you for your feedback! :)
The update and hopefully the resolution of the issue.
I went to Aramex on Airport Rd & found Alaa. I sat down and said that I was not leaving until this issue had been solved. He saw that I meant business. Fortunately the Filipino secretary he is working with was super-efficient and found an old email regarding that package. It was in fact a pen with a camera ordered by someone in Saudi, that had landed in my box.
Halaa immediately sent emails to all parties (incl. my Customs man) to stress they would collect the fine from the right person and I should not be bothered further!
I'll follow up and call the Cutoms man tomorrow!
Up to now, I have to say that whatever issue I had with Aramex, they solved it asap..and if it took some time, I just sent a complaint and it was resolved in 2 days time (happened once only, sender only put my name on the bill, not aramex number, and was company's mailbox, so they couldn't relate).
I assume you should be in contact by phone with Alaa, so phone him. Also, phone the Costums guy, asking if Aramex/S&S called him and resolved the case as you didn't order nor received this particular item. Stay calm and extra polite and humble, explaining the case briefly and alsomentioning that you are very worried as there is no way that you would put yourself in such situation (importing illegal things).
Do not try to resolve the case with him, just "taste" his mood and confirm you can NOT do anything yourself as it's in the hand of Aramex (because you didn't order, they know it since a month, you didn't receive anything, and actually can prove it as didn't pay anything to aramex for delivery, blablabla).
I'm quite confident that all will be resolved quite swiftly and you don't need to pay.
In case you don't have any confirmaiton, you can still put a complain tonight on Aramex.
I don't think I should. It's admitting I had something to do with this package, which I don't. I don't even know what was in it. After all, it's even been "disposed of".
What a mess!
This has happened twice with my mailbox too, however customs were never involved. I would get a message that a parcel weighing X amount is in my US mailbox. I would call S&S and they would tell me it has been placed in the wrong mailbox by error and they corrected it immediately. It seems they made the mistake again with you but unfortunately customs are on your case now too. S&S should really fix this issue for you as it is their mistake not yours.
The previous month, that is what happened but this was a "special package" I guess, and I have no clue which illegal equipment they are accusing me of importing.
I have no idea who sent the package to whom. It says the supplier is Genexus and the shipper is the receiver!
I have never seen the package and have no other information.
An alternative is to pay the AED 110 fine and go press charges to the Police for abusive use of my mailbox

Where did the goods come from ? I would say it's down to the sender rather than Aramex.
What puzzles me is that I have a very unusual name (not Smith or Jones) so I cannot understand how goods ended up in my mailbox and nothing was sorted out as to whether they were mine.
S&S seem to be sitting on their a**es and just sending me emails of "don't worry" since I got in touch with them this morning.
What they are actually doing I have no clue.
Go down to the Aramex office now, demand to speak to the Supervisor/Manager and refuse to leave until its sorted.
Get the Customs guy on the phone at the same time and get Aramex to deal with him.
Be careful, you never know it could be a scam as well.
I am going to go to their office because this whole mess is really scary. Alaa from Aramex has dealt with the Customs guy so I don't think it is a scam. When I go under my S&S account, it still features this package and says "disposed of" ??

Where did the goods come from ? I would say it's down to the sender rather than Aramex.. A while ago one of my teen's web accounts was hacked and the person ordered 4 items which we had to pay delivery for. The web site refunded us the money for the goods once they knew we hadn't ordered them but we still had to pay the Aramex bill...
Back in October there was a "camera" in my S&S account, and I knew that I had not ordered anything. I called them to say so, and there had already been one package in my mailbox the month before that was not mine. They said they would take care of it and I did not hear about it until a week ago.
A gentleman from Customs called me on my cell to demand the payment of a fine for import of something illegal. I only buy clothes and could not figure out what it could possibly be -- until I realized it was that package I never ordered and never received. Obviously, it still had my name attached to it, and S&S had not done a thing about notifying Customs it was not mine.
Today the same gentleman from Customs called and said the case would be sent over to Police and Immigration unless the fine was paid within 48 hours.
Alaa from S&S sends messages that he will get in touch with Customs but how can I believe them?
It's really scary & I wonder whether I should pay the fine, then go to the police and press charges against Aramex for dealing with goods using my name.
