Isofix points on Hyundai Santa Fe

We've just got a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe - the dealer (who wasn't really very clued up) told us there were no Isofix points, I am not entirely convinced he understood what an Isofix point is! Anyway after doing some research online, it seems that all recent Hyundai Santa Fe models come with Isofix points in the 2nd row, but are not clearly identified or easy to find. Does anyone have experience with locating them on a Santa Fe they have bought in the UAE?

Just to follow up on this thread... we have the all the new 2012 model of the Hyundai Sante Fe and whilst the manual explains how to fit a LATCH/ISOFIX child car seat to your car, the model they sell in Dubai isn't equipped with LATCH/ISOFIX anchorage points sadly! (WHY OH WHY NOT??!) Anyway I have fitted the EASYFIX car seat base to the car with just a seat belt and it's very secure.

the Santa Fe has the Rear LATCH child-seat-attachment system which I guess is similar to ISOFIX although I don't know if my EASYFIX maxi-cosi base will attach to LATCH Yes it will. We know, we've fitted the Maxi-Cosi Easyfix base into an American LATCH-equipped car. Takes five seconds. LATCH is essentially just the regional American name for ISOFIX, which has different names in different countries, but is all based on the same international standard.

Hi Green-ish - well the UAE Hyundai site only lists specs for the 2010 model but I have just bought the 2012 model. I had a look on the USA website and it states that the Santa Fe has the Rear LATCH child-seat-attachment system which I guess is similar to ISOFIX although I don't know if my EASYFIX maxi-cosi base will attach to LATCH. Now that I am actually in possession of the car, you are right edna.welthorpe, I will look in the car manual!! On a unrelated note, I went over 5 km over 100km on SZR and some man piped up in what I can only assume is Arabic to presumably announce I am speeding! Normally I would expect this at 120km, but not at 105km and not an Arabic warning but some sort of beeping. Any way to turn off the this warning? I would prefer a beep!

The UAE models are almost certainly the American models with Arabic writing on the door mirrors and the warning sound when you reach 120km/h.

Also bear in mind the dealer may be right! A lot of cars out here don't come with the same specifications we're all used to in our home countries and so there may not actually be an Isofix/LATCH system in the car even if you'd have it back home.

Surely the mounting points are indicated in the car's user manual? Bear in mind that it's possible that the manual refers to the system as LATCH rather than Isofix.
