Live Out Maid - is it legal?

My maid has decided that she doesn't want to work for us when the visa comes up for renewal as she wants to get a live out position to give her more 'freedom'.

We have had a series of problems with her over the last year - boyfriends, part time evening work doing massages for friends etc., I feel that it is better for us to part ways anyway.

If any potential employer rings for a reference I would be honest with them but I won't be vindictive as I honestly believe she isn't a bad person, but we were too soft with her and she made the most of that.

Anyway, my question, is it actually legal to sponsor a maid and for them to live out?

She is planning to live in Satwa or Rashidiya in a room share but I thought that the DM had clamped down on this and this in itself is illegal?

Yes it is legal to sponsor a maid and have her live out. My two previous nannies both lived out. I paid her accommodation and transport costs to work. I would be completely honest when giving a reference out. It may save her next employer alot of stress. If they decide to take her at least they will know what she is like.

If you're planning on sponsoring her, I wouldn't do it as clearly she's looking to get a housemaid visa whilst working for various employments which is illegal.

The 'Employment Agreement' that was issued by the Naturalization and Residency Administration states: [b'>The Fourth Article (Accomodation)[/b'> The first party shall provide suitable, safe and hygienic accommodation for the second party So I guess that means that it is OK to live out. So is sharing a room legal now then?

I've been maid hunting today and found this on the website of a company called Dubai Maids: "The sponsor must provide the maid: Airfare to home country at least once every two years, decent living conditions in sponsor’s house or additional AED 500 for external housing. All 11 articles of the unified contract must be adhered to." http://www.dubai-maids.com/filipino_housemaids.htm I've no idea how accurate that is.
