Apologies for the redundant thread if this question has been asked before...but all my search results showed posts from Qatar...

I am looking for a good (and not too expensive) hair dresser. I have really thin hair and a blowdry usually leaves them limp after an hour so I normally just get a cut and ask them to dry it off.

Also, I am looking for a good and CLEAN salon in Al Barsha/Greens/Tecom for waxing. I usually go to The Nail Spa and love them, but its getting harder to get appointments when I want and also to go all the way over to Dubai Mall.

There are so many bad hairdressers out there that charge you a small fortune for the privelege of having your hair look like a small child did it, If anyone actually manages to find a reasonably priced one who is great please let me know 3 years and still looking like a 3 year old did my hair, the only decent cut i get is when i go home once a year. Not sure how they can charge 700 AED for highlights and a cut and blow when they use no different products to what is used at home its ridiculous. Over the years have had the same, really bad cuts and color jobs at some of the supposedly best salons. With the turnover of staff its hard to say if the same still applies but If you are looking for just a trim, I have used the salon in Lamcy several times, but not recently, it has been ok for a simple cut and or trim, not had color done there. Its not expensive. Alternatively I have had a cut and trim at Bellisma salon in DG also not recently either. Quite reasonably priced too. Definately avoid the salon outside of Ibn Battuta Mall at the Geant end, I had an experience there that can only be compared to an attack by Edward Scissorhands. HTH edited by Di@DXB on 19/07/2011 Ha ha your last line made me chuckle, i have had that experience pretty much everytime or as i said feeling like it was done by a 3 year old child, hasten to add, some of the cuts would have actually had come out better had a 3 year old child done it !!!!

Roots in barsha and jumeirah but i got to the barsha branch. All hairdressers there are good! Haircut, highlights, even nail services are good.

Haircorridor at Park and shop is where I always retreat to after I have felt adventurous and tried out the expensive salons in the Marina area. A cut with Lee stays perfect for weeks and weeks and doesnt make you loose your breath when you get to the cash register.

Why don't you try the Nail Spa in Ibn Battuta for your waxing - close to Greens, al Barsha - or at least closer than Dubai Mall........
