Maid with attitude!

I have a live in maid and all was going really well initially. Slowly she has developed an attitude to the point where she seems to give me a dirty look when I ask her to do some things!

This girl has no dramas apart from this attitude which has slowly developed over the last few weeks. She seems to have stopped interacting so much with my DS. He is only 3 months old and I am concerned she is paying him no attention and just acting like a robot around him for feeding etc.

I am due to finalise her papers shortly - I have to have her medical etc done by the end of the month.

What would you do? Sit down and chat to her about her surly attitude? Or just cut your loses and let her go?

I would consider yourself lucky that the attitude has come out before you've finalized all her paperwork and get rid of her. it'll just get worse, guaranteed.

It's one thing to be homesick - another to be indifferent to an important "part" of the job - the baby. Would have thought that being able to have some human contact with someone who depended on me would help, not hurt, the attitude. I'm with the ones who say let her go now.

Sounds like she is unhappy-perhaps homesick-have a chat with her before doing anything So what? We were all sad and unhappy when we moved away from our families! Get over it! Its a choice we made and we lived with it. We did not decide to have attitudes with our bosses and neither would our bosses have pulled us aside to console us. They are not kids and should understand that they are leaving their homes for better prospects. Stop treating them as though they are cottonwool.

Off with her head! No seriously if that is the attitude before the visa is stamped, imagine after? I don't believe in giving second chances anymore! I did it with 2 maids because I felt sorry for them but I am the one out of pocket now. completely agree... We are out of pocket and suffering as a result. No more kind madam!

I had a lovely maid who cleaned well and was great with the kids but just after all visa stuff sorted the attitude i got a glimpse of earlier (that i thought had been dealt with), came out in full force, to the point that she told me i need to control my children more (they are well behave IMHO) - cut a long story short, we had a meeting to resolve attitude and at the point that whilst my DH was talking and she sat with her back to him flicking through a mag, she was booked on the nxt flight to Manila - Halas. I would be worried. it's an expensive mistake - believe me!
