I was just there last weekend and my experience wasn't as bad as pinks' experience. Especially considering their cheap rates and great location. Overall, it wasn't too bad but wasn't too good either.

I have to agree with chants 39 - I took my parents and my wee one there about 3 years ago and had a very comfortable stay. Agreed the decor is dated, and the interior is not as fancy as a lot of the dubai hotels but the pool area is really nice and the view is quite something. Can't really remember the food much, but it must've been ok cause I would've moaned if it wasn't. It was nice just to get out of the city and experience somewhere different but also agree that if you're after top-notch, wouldn't go and also 2-3 nights is plenty.

I completely agree with pinks review. We won a two night stay there earlier in the year and checked out after one night! One added annoyance was that when we got back to our room after some exceedingly average dinner it stank of cigarette smoke as the people in the room next-door had been smoking and it had filtered through to ours!

Wow pinks sounds like you had an awful time. I can't say my experiences were the same though. I have stayed there twice and both times had a lovely stay. The first time was with my husband and in-laws; the second was for a conference. I agree on some points like the hotel is a bit dated but the rooms and bathrooms are all clean. I don't remember the balconies being so small, my husband often sat out there as he smokes. The pool area is lovely and as most hotels has a pool bar. I remember a tennis court, gym and mini golf course too. After dinner we went to the bar which has pool tables. It was very quite though except for the Friday. Many people who were not staying at the hotel came for the Friday buffet by the pool and then to use the pool after the buffet so it was really busy but this was in the winter so it maybe quieter now as they don't do the pool buffet in the summer. I think for a 1 or 2 night stay it is great. Longer than that you may get bored. I agree about the food, it's not bad it's just ok. I disagree with pinks statement that there is no place to enjoy the view, behind the pool bar there are tables with trees which provide some shade and it looks out over Al Ain. The view in the evening is really nice. You can also sit and have lunch there if you are spending the day at the pool. I think it depends on your expectations. If you are expecting something like the Royal Mirage you will be disappointed. It's a nice hotel though.

Our experience was better than pinks and we stayed last Autumn. Its a good, basic hotel with clean rooms, but I agree with Wild Mint, the food was uninspiring.

Food was unmemorable, but again, the view from the buffet terrace was great. Have to add though if you go at this time of the year (i.e. too hot to sit out) then there's nowhere to sit and look at the view!

Yes, dreadful, don't waste your money. There's nowhere at the hotel to sit and enjoy the view (even from your room - the balconies are too tiny to even put a single chair out there). We stayed for one night last summer, couldn't check in until late as they 'were having problems', and three times got locked out of our room and had to ask for new keys, got double charged for items... the list goes on. Food incredibly average, and the pool and pool area was inundated by young local boys who were on the rampage - security and lifeguards were unable to do anything. Oh, and on both days when we went to the pool we were told that the pool towels 'were finished'... it was just one disappointment after another. I did write to the management but got a template letter back saying "We're glad you've had a good stay with us" !!!

We stayed there 2 years ago. The hotel is quite dated, unless it has been renovated since then. Anyhow, it`s clean and peacefull, rooms are comfy. Very interesting location- on top of the mountain. There is observation deck with telescopes, and generally the view from the hotel is very nice. Our room was facing the pool area which was very well made and beautiful. We liked pool the most, since there isn`t much going on inside of the hotel anyway. Staff was accomodating and i remember the rate was very reasonable too. Food was unmemorable, but again, the view from the buffet terrace was great.
