I got a text from my mother last week to say that Stromboli was billowing smoke and steam as they sailed past - just to add to the fun! I'll be seriously miffed if any of this interrupts our plans. We've done the last 4 summers in Dubai and the last time we left was a year past Easter when we got caught up in the eruptions - we were stuck in the south of France though so not exactly a hardship :)

Etna is an active vulcano and erupts around twice a year anyway...

Is Hekla the one in Iceland, as Ive heard its about to erupt again. Glad im not heading home to soon.
