I feel fat all the time. I am in my 40's (late) but I hate my fat tummy. Am I expecting too much of myself and should just accept the middle age spread? I have tried dieting but I hate feeling hungry and weak and I know I should exercise more but.....

I look at pictures of celebs in bikinis in DM and get depressed.

Cushion chin up...celebs aren't real, their pics are mostly air brushed. Just join a gym and start doing the group classes, they are more fun and doable. Exercising increases your happy hormones so it will boast your mood 4 sure. Cyber hugs.

Thanks for the article, der. This makes me want to buy a scale that measures fat and muscle, to motivate myself to exercise more. Any of you have such a scale that you like?

Ah cushion, chin up. I just did the GM diet for a week and it's a great way to kick start a healthy eating plan and change your attitude to food. Eat as much fruit and veggies as you want. The tummy area is always difficult, stay away from foods that are likely to bloat you and make it worse - sadly wheat and dairy - I've cut right down on those and there's a definite difference. Do some exercise that you enjoy. A really simple equation for losing weight is eat less (rubbish), eat more (healthy food) and move more. der, that's a great article.

Dieting shouldn't make you feel hungry and weak cushion. ;) Don't compare yourself to the touched up photos of celebs...they ain't real! Healthy foods, sensible portions and getting moving are hopefully they keys to a trimmer, fitter me. I've a tonne of weight to lose and it's starting to fall off with just a few simple changes. I am most certainly not hungry either. :D Take care of yourself cushion.
