I buy all my meat from the organic store but I'm sure the pork products have nitrate in them. The bacon definately does as it's listed on the packet.

Yes it is, they also have a shop in The Greens if that is closer for you. My 3 year old loves the chicken lunch meat and the saugages but they dont do sliced meat like you get in the supermarket (ie chicken breast). Occasionally they have smoked turkey breast which is nice.

Thanks Parkernz....Its so hard to cut out processed meats esp. since cold cuts and hot dogs are so quick to make when you're in a hurry. Are you referring to the Organic Foods and Cafe at the Dubai Mall?

Also forgot to mention that the organic is out of mortadella at the moment, apparently they are waiting for some spices to come until they start producting again. The salami is good and so are the saugages and frankfurters.

The Organic supermarket does not put any nitrates in their meat, so far they are the only one I know of. Not sure of any other brands, all of the ones I looked at in the supermarket had them. Its scary when you start looking at whats is in our food! I am trying to get less processed food into our diet, my daughter is gluten and dairy free so I have been going down this road for a few years.

I've been reading about the dangers of both these ingredients in processed meat. Anyone know where I can find meat that is free from these ingredients or any particular brand that does not use them? Thanks.
