Ever since Boots opened in Dubai I have always bought all my toiletries/meds from them because I felt they had a better quality range at reasonable prices.

A few weeks ago I visited the MCC branch and bought a tub of Palmers Tummy Butter for AED47..it did occur to me that it was a bit pricey but having never bought it before I thought this must be the price for Palmer products. Imagine my shock, when I stroll into Carrefour (just opposite Boots!) and find the exact same product there for a mere AED24! I wasn't even looking to re-check the price but happened to be walking down that particular aisle by coincidence.

When I went back to Boots to challenge them, all they did was offer me their 'Complaints Book' to record my feedback. No explanation besides ' yes, ma'am some things are more expensive in this shop'!

I could understand if it was a few dirhams more but AED20 over the market price is ridiculous!

Am going to much more cautious when shopping at Boots from now on!

I had similar - I bought a DVD in Virgin for the children - 80 dhs. Went into Toy Store and it was 45. Virgin gave me my money back as I took a picture of the one priced lower

I notice many products are way more expensive there than in Carre4 or Lulu.

Probably because there are only a few stores, so they can't buy in bulk like the supermarkets can, so their costs will be higher. Things will usually be cheaper in the supermarkets.
