parking tickets on sandy areas... why?

I got two separate tickets ...I feel unfair as they are unjustified...
one next to the safa park on a saturday (flea market) couldn't find any parking so came from the back of a sandy area and parked close by to a pavement (never drove over it) and got a ticket for... 'DRIVING OVER FOOTH PATH'' 0_O NO I didn't !!!
Today again, on the sandy area on dubai side of sahara centre (Al nahda)... where there is no pavement, no parking, paid or unpaid , and the ticket says ...'parking not allowed'' ... again 0_o what? it doesn't say anywhere there that it's not allowed... unless i missed the memo, I and many others parked there for years with no issues ever, it's just sand!!!!...
NOW venting done... my question.. did anyone argue their ticket and got their rights back?? please help me/ back me up as I intend to go and 'discuss' it further at RTA... anyone got their ticket cancelled... what info was required?
thanks u .. hoping this thread doesn't go, as I really need advice

well ladies I hope I never have an emergency and be forced to leave my car around your property God Forbid... and since the UAE is a sand pitch in all direction I look... I should take my car on my back wherever I go even if it's broken down.... next time on your way to somewhere and see someplace nice on the road... don't dare stop that car anywhere to take pics ;)

Just because theres no signs means nothing I'm afraid, they made a LAW some time ago that it's illegal to park on sandy areas. Just because some people still do it in some areas means very little too, just that they will be ticketed if theres police in the area.

We'll have to agree to disagree then - just because the property is not built on or signed in any way or is not adjacent to a structure does not mean that it does not "belong" to anyone. Even if it belongs to the municipality it still does not make it wide open for anyone the municipality has not authorized to use, even for parking. I own 5 hectares of unbuilt on land in my home country, it's private property, and I have the right to refuse you entry to it even if I'm not using it right now.

Even the sandy patches may be private property. Just because the owner is not using it, doesn't mean you can. u got it wrong we are talking about public empty deserted not close to any private property, with sign of fence or beach or house around... just the side of the road... middle of nowhere kind of place...

Yip, just anything to suit themselves. Parking on the sand, not hurting anyone. Here's a fine. Parking on a road, actually blocking the way though on a Friday near certain buildings between 12pm and 2pm is perfectly acceptable. :\:

indeed...that's the reason.. as someone wrote here once... if you don't have a receipt for it... it's illegal.... FREE is illegal, how dare I park in Dubai and go shop in Sahara centre ''Sharjah'' (although i didn't go shopping in sahara) I went back to sahara back area again to check .. and it seems they have a sign by the road for not parking there... but it looks like it's intended for the edge of the road... and ppl still parked where i was yesterday, as there was no sign on the fence :( MY BAD... i should not park at a 500m radius around a sign, next time!

i came from the back ...there was no official entrance... as for the law...i saw no sign anywhere..... I have parked on the sandy area of al nahda for ages (but not for few weeks) until they had some underground work going... no sign of the rules there... and there is no pavement :( but then again... for example, there is plenty of sandy parking next to NMC and behind it and it's always fully packed... no one fined them and surely no sign of "forbidden parking' has been raised there 0_o they have swallowed the whole residential area (with few small shops) with paid parking signs so ppl have to find alternatives (to AED2 an hour all day)...

they did make it a law a couple of years ago that you couldnt park on sandy areas. You could I spos question them about the driving over the pavement one, maybe the ticketing officer couldnt see quite how you got where you parked without doing so?
