There is an excellent guide about b&b's. You can find it online: http://www.portfoliocollection.com/ or might be able to pick the booklet up at the tourist info or a b&b. It's free. We were very happy with all the accomodations we picked from it.
Google Hogshollow - I remember it being around Knysna or plettenburg Bay - awesome - my husband and I went many years ago - great memories - also try a 'feather Palace' in Oortshoorn - something very different - we didn't actually stay in one - we stayed in an old sheep farm - renovated horse stables with home made Karoo lamb for dinner - very very good !
check out www.sasafari.com as my friend can personally recommend some options for you, and get very good prices.
I've always wanted to do that route - hope you find something nice ;-)
Are you going as far as Port Elizabeth? We stayed in a really beautiful, friendly guesthouse called Gerald's Gift which is in Addo, near the Addo Elephant Park.

Lucky you, wish I was doing that trip again!
Hi All
We are off to South Africa shortly and struggling to choose where to stay along the Garden Route. We have sorted the Winelands and Safari part of the trip and a fair idea for Capetown but seeing so many reviews for places along the way for the Garden route and wondering if there are any personal recommended gems anybody can advise of! It's part of our honeymoon and looking for small/chic/boutiqey/friendly/sit on terrace with glass of vino etc! I really dont want to approach tour companies as looking for personal recommendations. Thanks everyone! :-)
