We are going to be staying in Qasr al Sarab this weekend. We understand that the road leading up to the hotel is unmade, but could anyone who has stayed there please confirm that our saloon car will be able to get there OK? Our 4 x 4 is unexpectedly out of action. I'm assuming it would be, otherwise they'd lose loads of trade, but if anyone can verify this, I'd be grateful!

Thanks!

The road has now been covered in tarmac, just look out for the sand drifts that take over half the road. I wouldnt recommend doing it in the dark, some of the drops down the dunes look a bit scary. Take your time and enjoy the drive through the dunes. It really is a very very nice hotel

Thanks Jac, much appreciated, and thanks for the extra info about food. I'll pack a few extra rations!

We went there in a sports car and as long as you go slow there will be no problem using a saloon car. A beautiful place but food and drink is extremely expensive so maybe go prepared. I'm sure you will have a great time!
