Coco pops, I've never heard of any but a quick google brings up this http://www.abacenter.org/default.htm
I'm sorry I can't give you any info as I didn't know it existed.
would you mind if I jumped in to ask if they have any special needs schools there?
we had our visas etc done from there, & personally I liked the feel of RAK...not too busy busy
I would consider moving there if I was confident with the special needs schooling they offered :)
I don't know about private nurseries (don't know the names of any either I'm afraid) but the school has Playgroup from 2.5 years which is AED 11k per year.
ETA, sorry, I should have looked here first http://www.rakpedia.com/education/nurseries-and-schools.html
RAKESS is the school that the expats put their kids in. There's the RAK American Academy for Girls but I only knew one expat there and they pulled their DD out.

Thanks. We were in Dubai for years and bought a studio in Al Hamra Marina as our weekend getaway from Dubai as we thought it was so nice up here.
Bit of a waste of time as we later decided to go the whole hog and move up here permanently :)
It has its charms but it also has its drawbacks.
Yeah but I have to drive down to Dubai tomorrow morning to start my Christmas shopping because there's eff all up here :)
After I've watched the rays basking along the shoreline that is.....
Good if you like being outdoors, beautiful scenery, relaxed pace of life, cheaper property prices.
Not so good for schooling - only one school that the expats go to. Not much in the way of shopping - you end up heading back to Dubai for the malls.
Hi ladies,
what are the most important things to know (both positive and negative) about Ras Al Khaimah?
I know my question is very general...sorry for that...and thank you all for the advises!
