Returning to Dubai during Ramadan, I know last year that Dubai mall had their food court open does anyone know where you can find information on what is open and what isn't. We have guests coming back with us.

Shakespear's at Park n Shop are usually reliable for opening. You just need to go in the back door. :)

Went there last year a couple of times and saw an Arab buying his drinks and food, in his Arabic clothing as well!!! ????? cause all Arabs are Muslim, by Arabic clothing I presume you mean kandoora??? maybe he was buying for someone else, pregnant/breastfeeding wife or his children. there could be many reasons why he wasn't fasting that particular day, it is possible to not fast and make it up another time.

I know costa on the palm was open, but I think it was about the only one! The one at the Ranches was too, until another shop complained even though Costa had a license to open. The one at Silicon Oasis was too, perhaps cos it's a seperate unit. Went there last year a couple of times and saw an Arab buying his drinks and food, in his Arabic clothing as well!!!

Pretty much everywhere in DIFC was open last year - I was really surprised when I wandered around on the first day of Ramadan!

It all depends on where you go. Mall of the Emirates, Kempinski Hotel ground floor is always open for food and drinks. They even put on a special Ramadan Brunch during the day, everyday, it's all just curtained off. Dubai Mall, the hotels there food and drinks are available, same with Festival City. Some Costas open, they curtain it all off as well. Any others you find are a bonus. There is always somewhere to eat and drink during Ramadan. The food courts are normally open for children only and you will get a warning if you share their food.

Its all really hit and miss and you have to wait and see on the day - last year MOE had the Food Court opened (but screened off) but if youre not into that type of food, there isnt any other choice (except the hotel options) and Starbucks and Costa shops were closed. Ibn Battuta had nothing open from memory. The Lime Tree has been opened and then shut halfway though. Even if an outlet starts off as open there's no guarantee they're going to make it through to the end ;) edited by Pomegranate on 11/07/2011

well all food courts in malls will be shut. Only some restaurants in hotels open up but you need to check. Plus with the summer the outlets will be opening later this year as the sun wont be setting until about 8pm
