:( I'm one too. Its really hard - I'm 26 and have had it since 18. Bad points - Back in the UK on the NHS I never got any help, nothing, it took 3 years of crying to different doctors to finally get a silly blood test and to be seen by an endocrinologist only to be told by him there is nothing that can be done. I know there are good doctors back home who recognise PCOS....I just never came across them and this is in 3 different cities. So i'd be really interested in who you went to, what did they offer in terms of advice, medicine, plans etc? Bad point 2 - people just don't get it. E.g losing weight becomes so hard no matter how hard you try - never taken seriously by anybody. Good point - you can have babies :) I just had a baby girl 7 weeks ago, all natural, no problems even though my hormone imbalance is on the extreme end. I've learnt that its sometimes best to listen to Doc and people with a pinch of salt. :) edited by N.Kaye on 12/04/2011 Ahh congratulations on your little girl.. you must have been overjoyed! Great to know all of this. It all confused me to be quite honest. I suppose when you get told for the first time somethings not right down there you don't listen you just think the worst. The Well Woman clinic in Satwa. They are wonderful its just unfortuante that my doc is away. Yet to find out about advice, medicine and plans etc. but will keep you posted when shes back. That clinic is fab ladies for many things. Smear tests, xrays, breast checks. A great clinic for women.

I was diagnosed with this a few years ago and found out when i discovered dark hairs in a place woman should defo not get them! Found it relatively easy to control through diet, i noticed that i would crave carbs/chocolate and when i watched my diet the symptoms would halve. I had a ruptured cycst in the August and recieved treatment and then concieved my daughter in the November so it doesn't necessarrily have to effect your fertility its best to be aware of it and read up.

My daughter was diagnosed a couple of years back, and like you did not have any symptoms, other then irregular periods. She doesn't live here anymore and is seeing an endrocrinologist where she is living now, who specializes in PCOS. When she was diagnosed here, the doctor suggested the following site and encouraged her to read up about the disease, especially on how diet can play a role in managing it. http://www.soulcysters.com/ Best of luck! So I went for a pelvis scan a few weeks ago and they called this week to say they are quite certain I have PCOS (blood tests to confirm next week) They found lots of little cysts over both my ovaries. However I'm not suffering from the other symptoms - excessive hair growth, obesity etc. Im young, fit and my weight is in ratio to my height. I'm uncertain if my periods would be irrgeular as I have been on the pill for so many years. Has anyone else been through the same thing? No symptons other than the cysts? Were you able to concieve? Have booked in to have a chat with the doctor but shes away for a few weeks so its playing on my mind.. Would appreciate any knowledge you have.....
