Shop and ship Aramex - feeling cheated!

Hi are there any shop and ship users? I've just started using this service recently. First time, my package was reweighed in Dubai and Aramex Dubai charged me less than the online quote (online weighed it as 0.9 kg when it was 0.3!!) second time, they followed the quote and weight online. When I asked to have it reweighed, they said the online quote was correct. However, I reweighed the package on my own and it is much less than that. My issue is not the money but the fact that they're overcharging me!! It's not right :( anyone else experienced this? I'm contemplating on contacting the shop and ship team but I'm sure nothing will come out of it! Can you recommend any similar service that's reliable and efficient? Thanks!

But that would mean having to go down to their office.. The whole idea of shopping online is to avoid that and getting it at my doorstep! I will definitely enquire about this with them..hope it gets sorted and I'm not overcharged again. Thanks ladies!

The fact ShopandShip charges on weight alone instead of volume (like Borderlinx does - which is a lot more expensive) makes it worth it to me to use their service.

Same with me, whenever there is an issue with the weight, just inform them and they will weigh it infront of you (if you're collecting the package from their office reception). They only charge on the weight itself and not on the size, so I think it is still reasonable. Anyways, happy shopping to everyone :)

I have had issues with the weight being incorrectly posted. When I went to pick up the package, I got them to weigh it then and there and got my money back, in cash, on the spot.

Don't know why people still use shop and ship at all. At least from the US, international shipping has become the norm so virtually all major websites will ship direct. The only reason to use it is if you are shipping specialty items. actually if there are franchises here, then the store will not ship internationally - its to do with the T&C of the franchise.

Don't know why people still use shop and ship at all. At least from the US, international shipping has become the norm Many sellers on eBay, Amazon.com and Amazon Marketplace will not ship internationally. There are also plenty of items on Amazon.com that cannot be shipped internationally. So no, international shipping is *not* the norm. Some places offer it, many others don't. If you have the time and don't mind it going through Shop and Ship I always find it cheaper than shipping direct Where direct shipping is available, we always compare with S&S before we order. Sometimes direct is cheaper, sometimes S&S is. It varies according to the weight of the item. edited by Madge_Gustard on 21/05/2014

Don't know why people still use shop and ship at all. At least from the US, international shipping has become the norm so virtually all major websites will ship direct. The only reason to use it is if you are shipping specialty items. There are some specific companies that do handle international shipping for big retailers in the US. For example J Crew, and Nordstrom outsource their international shipping (Nordstrom and many other department stores use BoarderFree) - when you do this you pay in Dirhams, you also pay in advance taxes and shipping. This in theory sounds great, but they will charge you an unfavorable exchange rate and the taxes and shipping are also high. Another reason not to ship directly is J Crew, SAKs, Tory Burch often have 20% of days on their site when everything is 20% off, because you are shopping on JCrews International website you won't see that. You will only see the normal price, if you change the country you want to shop in you will see far more discounts. This happened to me just before Xmas I ordered a huge amount from Jcrew to be shipped directly to me, only to see that on their US website everything was 20% off. I was so upset! If you have the time and don't mind it going through Shop and Ship I always find it cheaper than shipping direct.

Hi! I am a Shop and Ship user and whenever there is an issue, I just send an email to [email protected]. They are very efficient in responding to emails (max. 24 hours). Try to send them your complaint and hope you see results ;)
