Morning,
Just a quick question regarding an average 2bed villa in the Springs. Do you have an Air Con bill or is it incorporated into your DEWA bill? Also what do you do with your daily rubbish? is it wheelie bins? any other hidden bills we have to worry about? thanks in advance

No problems! We're in a 3 bed with maid's room plus study and our combined DEWA (for water, electricity and AC) totalled 1500 for June. We've got a pool and garden, so it would be cheaper without those. The bills are definitely a lot higher than when we lived in an apartment, but it is so lovely to have the extra space and I wouldn't change it for the world. Just keep in mind that many of the Springs are a bit old and rundown. We did a lot of searching and found somewhere that had been nicely renovated. We would have loved to move into the Lakes but we found that we could pay the same for a new 3 bed Lakes with a normal sized backyard, as what we ended up paying for a 3 bed Springs with a big backyard and private pool... Plus, now that the 4 lane road out the back of Springs has opened up, traffic is minimal and you can actually turn left or right at intersections - rare in Dubai! HTH :)

Housing fees are 5% of the annual rent. Dewa take out a portion of it each month, so it's split over the year.

Hi ladies, Sorry to hijack this thread, but, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me roughly how much the bills are for a 2 bed in the springs. (DEWA/housing tax etc) Thinking of moving from a 1 bed apartment to a 2 bed villa and don't want to be shocked when the bills start coming in. TIA

Nope. It should all be covered in the maintenance fees paid by the property owner.

Air con is in the electricity consumption on your DEWA bill.

Re: bins - each villa has its own wheelie bin, which they empty a least every 2 days, sometimes in hot weather they do it daily. Not sure re: bills, but think it would be part of Dewa account.
