so i chopped up tomatoes, cucumbers and onions. made a dressing with equal parts lemon (actually lime) juice, garlic and EVOO. threw in some parsley and sumac. seasoned. but its not the same as the restaurants. some places use an extra dark red sauce (sweet but barely).....anyone know what that is?

tks ladies.... but what is pomergranate syrup? where do I find it? PS. go for it kelly1814. my first time too :) i had loads of two day old khubbus. tossed it lightly in OO and kind of fried it as oven grill was not working. <em>edited by Homeward Bound on 27/09/2011</em>

it is available in the oil/vinegar section as dibs romman . I also use balaa ( sp) leaves in the salad

To be more precise it is 'Grenadine Molasses' I was told never confuse grenadine with pomegranate. All my recipes for fattoush use pomegranate - grenadine is much much sweeter so I would be with Irooni and use pomegranate - it's also lovely with fresh pomegranate too

Yup, pomegranate syrup. Throw in some pomegranate arils too, it will taste yummy.
