Does anybody know if it is possible to put some cash on a UK bank account ? I have this UK account , if I want to put on it some savings that I have in cash, how could I do that ?
I doubt I could go to the branch in Dubai as I am not banking with them here in Dubai. Or can I go to my bank here (not same bank) to put the money ? Feeling a little confused right now...

Yes you can but dont do western union as this is only good for small amounts like 50 -100 GBP, they will do a telegraphic transfer instead 45 Dhs. Make sure you dont just accept the rate on the board though, check XE and push for a rate quoted on there (or as close as you can get) Good Luck

Thank you very much for the info. I have used these places before but to send money through Western Union. I did not know you could send to a (foreign) account. Thanks again

Also dont do the exchange on a Friday the rates are not negotiable. I always check XE.com for what the bank rate is and then try to negotiate as close to that rate as possible, hope this helps

Just go to any of the money exchange places in the malls. Have your bank account number, sort code and Branch address, it usually takes 3 or four days to reach. Always ask the cashier for 'the best possible rate' and he/she should go speak to their manager. The cost is around 45 dhs for making the transfer and is far cheaper than making the transfer through your online banking.. Also take some form of ID. Very easy to do, especially if you return to the same place to make additional transfers as they keep your details on file.
