My heart bleeds everytime I read about these voiceless creatures being brutally tortured by these brutes. Being expats, honestly speaking there is very little we can do about it. R.I.P. Roxy... Have you thought that it may be expats doing this and therefore parents may see the campaign that is on Facebook or read about it on here and do something about it? Spreading the word and, where possible, intervening at grassroots level could save one life. If you ask me that makes it all worthwhile.

I opened the link and saw a dog who could be the sister to one of mine, Suzie, except Roxy had more of the brown in her coat. What a beautiful little face she had.

The board here is not representative of most people. Judging by the Gulf News comments on the Iguana case, quite a few people believe in animal cruelty or are indifferent to it, their main belief being "humans come first".

Too awful for words. RIP Roxy. Sorry we weren't able to save you but hopefully we can try spread the word and get a real, enforceable animal anti-cruelty law where the people who carry out these actions will actually pay for their sick deeds. Dubai may have the most expensive police cars, the highest building, the biggest mall YET its track record of animal welfare is one of the most shocking.... I despair at times. I am not debating or contradicting your post, but I thought Roxy"s tragic death happened in Sharjah. edited by simoralu44 on 20/05/2013 It did but the Safa Park incident was here in Dubai!

Those who did this are not humans! And we cannot call them animals either because we would offend the animals. They are scum and life will give them what they deserve for such cruelty. RIP Roxy!

I hope the people that did this suffer a slow, painful, agonising, fear-filled death with no one around them. I don't usually wish harm on anyone but this has made my blood boil to the point where I hope they suffer immensely.

Dear friends, For those who haven't heard we have sadly had a death in the DSDP family. Whilst we can't prove anything at this time, it is fairly clear this has been a case of animal cruelty. Please read link below re our beautiful Roxy if you have not already and it should answer any questions. As a peaceful tribute to Roxy and support of the UAE animal welfare law 16, DSDP in partnership with Cruelty free Dubai are launching an online 'If you see something, do something- UAE Animal welfare law 16' campaign and would greatly appreciate your support. We will be uploading pictures of our pets, and ask you to please do the same and help us spread the word. All you need to do to take part is to join, upload a pic of any animal (even a friends goldfish will do) with the following words to spread awareness "If you see something do something, UAE animal welfare law 16". We cant save Roxy, but hopefully through awareness we can help others. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=434739213288336&set=a.345777518851173.79393.344041052358153&type=1&theater Your support is much appreciated.

If I ever saw these sub humans doing this I don't think I could be held responsible for my actions. Enough said.
