It seems to have disappeared, I've tried, Waitrose (Marina Mall) Jumeirah Spinneys, Park n Shop (JLT), Geant, Al Maya (nr JLT metro in the Marina).

None of them have it, have you seen it anywhere?

Is it too late to start a x-mas cake? Can I still get away with it if I buy my fruit this week? Made one two years ago and it was delish!

hijacking thread: does anybody know where to find golden syrup? Supposed to be a the light treacle? Thanks! I also read that you can use the molasse in stead of dark treacle and they sell it in Spinneys. Was looking for the dark one as well and about to soak my fruits once I gather all my ingredients...

You can use molasses in place of black treacle. Virtually the same thing although maybe a bit stronger.
