This is my topic :-)
Park and Shop sell them, but last time I went they weren't the best quality. I ended up buying Granny Smiths and it was just as yummy as usual.
Why not make a lovely apple pie for afters??? ;-)
I need them for a braised cabbage recipe. Thinking of granny smiths if I can't find them.
Delish ! use the granny smiths in that and if you want squeeze a bit of lemon juice to sharpen the flavour .
And it also helps in preventing discoloration of the apples.
I think Carrefour carries Granny Smiths, if not, try Géant.

I always prefer Granny Smith apples, esp for Apple Pie or Apple Charlotte. They're easily available at any supermarket.
Agree. They hold their shape -- unless reduced to pulp for a sauce -- and have a nice tart edge as well. Delicious. :)
If you are making apple sauce to serve with meat .. I would suggest the Bramley apple sauce by Colemans. You can buy it in a jar from spinneys and thats lovely. You could chop up some granny smiths as the sauce is very smooth ( almost like baby food ) and you can add that for Texture. i would lighly cook it so the granny smiths start to soften. Its nice a sharp that way to serve with meat.
If its for an apple pie or a crumble, you can actually get some pie filling. Its an american brand that ive used before from Lu Lu in al barsha. You will find it next to the jams. Its falvoured with cinnamon.
I dont think ive seen cooking apples here.. mind ou I dont go to C4 and i suspect they might have some
