I know a non-profit organisation, For Syria, that collects clothes on a monthly basis and sends them to displaced people in Syria. They are also collecting baskets of food items for Ramadan if anybody is interested in donating (each basket will feed a family of four during the month of Ramadan). I do as Skyfall and give my unwanted clothes and other stuff to our maid, the maintenance people, the guys from the window cleaning company etc. They always send it back home.

I struggled finding a place that genuinely passes unwanted items onto people needing them. So now I usually ask the security guards at our building if they have families/children and give it to them, they are only too happy to receive them. I also give any unwanted items to our cleaner and her extended family.
