I read today that the actress wasn't walking around the shop in underwear but was in the changing rooms. Allegedly she is also suing the lady who shouted at her for defamation plus she said she said she was a government official but that has yet to be proved

I found the police response (printed in Khaleej Times) interesting. I love his message of respect, the Egyptian woman could learn a lot from him. Walking around in your underwear, why on earth??? "Major-General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police for Criminal Investigation, has underscored that all visitors, tourists and residents of Dubai are treated well and what a lady has done, whose identity so far has not been confirmed, by hurling bitter words and trespassing on the privacy of the Egyptian actress has nothing to do with Emirati people who respect all nationalities. The UAE law, he pointed out, bans photographing any person and releasing video clips without their consent and permission. This is what the suspected lady has done. Most Emiratis agreed that the Emirati woman’s behaviour was uncalled for."

The full story was on FB, It seems that the Egyptian actress was trying underwear & was walking around the shop with her underwear to change the sizes of the items she was trying. The Emarati lady asked her nicely 3 times not to walk around like this but she didn't listen & was rude to her. Then the shouting started That is shocking if true!

I don't know what's wrong with people these days.. why can't they just stick to their own business. I am sure posting such video on social media is illegal too..

I don't think it's possible to judge who is right without knowing what happened before. She might have started off with a quiet word to her and the ladies are very rude back. Agree with Wickedangel that it appears the lady in black was initially dressed in something else and put the black dress on top which is why she doesn't look that bad in the video. I also reckon that the video was filmed and uploaded by a witness not anybody involved. Apparently the two ladies in normal clothes are famous Arab actresses. I agree that people have to be respectful of the rules here and to be honest I myself have been tempted to say something to people dressed excessively inappropriately (think a lady wearing a white bikini with a bright pink mesh (wide mesh so no modesty in the dress at all) dress indoors at the Cheese Factory in JBR, or a lady walking down the street in Downtown Dubai wearing very short hot pants and a pink boobtube, literally covering just her breasts with her entire tummy and shoulders exposed). It's not that I particularly care or take offence myself but I believe that it's a clear statement of disrespect for the local culture.

The video wasn't fully filmed, from what they were saying that woman covered up with the abaya later, what she was wearing was similar to a beach wear or underwear. I don't know who's right & who's wrong, I don't know how it started and led to this shouting & name calling

People should always respect the traditions and norms of host country and dress/act in a way that is not offensive. That's what you do when you visit someone in their home and the same goes for visiting a country. BUT I don't think that the approach was right... The approach is very rude. That's not how you treat a guest either, by telling them this is my house/country I can say what I want and all the other bad words that followed...

It was posted by the Khaleej Times newspaper to their Facebook page. Not sure by whom.

Not in that manner no. If it upsets her that much then have a quiet word but no need to harangue them and film to post on social media. Isn't that illegal anyway?
