No luck with that one then :-) how about a recommendation for a tiler? Or where sells nice light fittings? Couple of places on the Karamal/Zabeel stretch for light fittings. We got some from a place called Inara... a few blocks down from the furnitire stores, rivoli etc. There are a few stores earlier on that stretch as well. you can see them from the main road that comes off Makhtoum if you're heading in the Shk Z to AD direction. Also there is one on the road that leads from the Trade Centre spinneys to the GPO - on your right in the service lane perpendicular to babyshop. But, the best place by far if you can stomach the trek and the general experience is Dragon Mart. Tons of lighting at ridiculous prices. like a fourth of what it is in karama. Went there with a brave friend who led me around and found some faboulous deals. you do need to haggle though, even if its tempting to accept the price they offer since its so much less to begin with ;)

Take a look: http://www.google.ae/search?sourceid=navclient&aq=1&oq=wood+floor&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4GGHP_enAE439AE439&q=wood+flooring+dubai Buildmart is in Ibn Battuta Mall, to the right of Geant, on the left side, past HSBC bank. Can't help you with any others. Although you can "take them with you" if you move, I would suggest not spending a fortune if you are renting.

Most of the home furnishing shops sell light fittings, I guess it just depens on which style you are looking for. There is a specialist light shop in Al Quoz on the corner with Um Suqueim. Can't help you with any of the other things. :)
