So I delivered ladies !!! And it was nothing like what I thought it would be !!! I was so sure I would have a normal delivery. My due date was today !but my water broke on 11th , rushed to the hospital , wasn't in any pain and after 2 hours of walking to get the contractions started they decided to induce me . After 4 hours of that and minimal result , they diagnosed foetal distress, Ds heart rate was dropping . Turned out my pelvis was too narrow, poor Ds was pushing but to no luck .so emergency c section it was. Funny how things never turn out the way you expect them to !! Anyway we re back home now and I'm a zombie from the sleepless nights and the feed clean cycle. Oh, but congratulations are sooo in order! Well done! Few things to do with babies and children turn out as we expect... even when they go to plan! It just gets more random, the older they get! lol I'm glad you're doing well and that you're both safe and well. You sound happy, for all the sleeplessness, which is really good too. Welcome to motherhood!

My bub couldnt move by that time as it really had ran out of space. Good luck for your scan! Labour is something really miraculous and not as bad as you would think. I was terrifeid at the thought of giving birth but when the labour pains started i got really excited, this beautiful being that i had carried, i was at last about to meet! And its not like having a tooth out where you leave in pain, you have this wonderful new person to explore. You have 2 choices, enjoy it or freak out. Choose to tell yourself that each contaction is a step forward to meeting your little miracle and on the plus side it doesnt last forever. Your labour is your time,so make your preferences known to those sharing it with you and enjoy it. So I delivered ladies !!! And it was nothing like what I thought it would be !!! when i found out i was pregnant i was really happy and nervous, all i could think about was this head coming out of me, but after time i became so excited to meet my baby, and guess what, at 39 weeks, with no real movement, i woke up thinking i was about to pee my pants, and well it wasn't pee that came out, my water broke then came the plug and soon after contractions, i called my sister, texted my midwife, it all happened so calmly. i took hypno-birthing courses, and that really helped me, just breathe and know that you are about to hold an amazing creation in your arms, know that you are going to experience some pain, yes, but you can over come it because you are a powerful being, this one day of pain will soon lead to a life long feeling of love.. i learned from hypno-birthing to not tense up if possible and do not clinch your jaw... be open and breathe 20 in (through your nose) and 18 out out (expanding your tummy, try keepingyour tounge behind your upper teeth to not clinch your jaw) . focus on your breath, when the contractions come look inside, and imagine yourself holding your baby... pretty soon you will find birth is the most amazing thing you will ever experience in your life (hopefully), i felt every emotion possible, all these emotions actually sort of overwhelmed me helping me to not really feel the pain... i can go on and on... now i sorta want to feel all those endorphins again,i can do all the extreme sports imaginable and i bet i can never get the amazing rush i got when i had my DD... good luck, and just BREATHE : )

Your endorphins (happy hormones) will go into overdrive if you let them, regardless, pretty much of how you end up giving birth. It is, without doubt, the most incredibly amazing life-changing moment ever. wow..thank you all so much... Hello kitty you mde it sound so exciting and magical... =) somehow akll the stories i ve heard till now centered around the grueling pain !! =/ so my mind is just focussed on what this pain will be like , how i ll bear it and what if i cant??? =( That's the biggest thing about birth - we are our own worst enemies! In [b'>any[/b'> other life situation, we know that going into it with a positive mindset helps no end to the extent that people will even tell you little white lies to pep you up (say before an exam, where you know things might be a bit dodgy, everyone will be saying "aww, it'll be fine, you'll see!" or "you've worked really hard and I know you'll do your best"... they don't say to you "oh, yes, I'm sure there'll be a question or two that you're not going to manage" or "yeah, there's no way you can do it on your own...")... quite why, therefore, some people love to wallow in negativity regarding labour is beyond me. There's no denying it's hard work - you're pushing a 3 or 4 kg object out of quiiiiite a small hole with a muscle that you've never used before (which is actually the strongest muscle in your body, or so I think I read). It's a muscle pain though (like the hardest gym workout you could ever imagine!), not a trauma pain (breaking my ankle was way more painful than giving birth)... BUT the trick to that is I think to understand and acknowledge the fact that it doesn't have to be a trauma... which is what all these "you'll be in agony" tales undermine. There's a theory that says that fear makes you tense, which makes it all more painful, so your fears self-fulfil and compound, making you tenser, and it more painful... the key is to break that cycle, either at the root, where you ditch the fear, or at the tension stage where you take the drugs... or a bit of both! lol!

Everybody's pain is different and please don't listen to those who tell you how awful it is. You will be able to bear it and if not, there's help available. I roared like a lioness throughout all my (3 very different) births and can honestly say I didn't care who heard me. It wasn't roars of pain, it was something much more primeaval than that to the point where the 'birthing mother' took over in the delivery room. I had pain relief with 2 of them so I'm no superbirther. It will be magical, if somewhat messy and yes it hurts (but not like when you stub your toe!), but when you meet your baby for the first time and fall head over heels in love, your life will be changed forever as it steals your heart and your pain and effort of delivery is forgotten in an instant. Very best of luck to you.

hey there.. im 38 weeks along now..got my regular checkup at city scheduled tomorrow... havent been feeling the baby move much at all... thiugh i know its moved cause i can see bumps on different sides at diff times...sis tells me its normal when the baby has grown as much as it prolly has by now...and im freaked out by the whole delivery thought... every time i get a twinge down there my mind starts racing....somebody help !!! As soon as labor kicks in, so does the adrenaline - it's mother nature's gift to us! I felt great after each of my deliveries. I felt great *during* my second delivery too... my first was a bit frantic quick. OP, you're at term and bubs is pretty big now, so his/her movement is restricted. It's all normal. Try not to worry about the delivery, as it will tense your body up and will likely make it more painful... try to focus on the excitement of meeting your baby at last and ride the wave, so to speak. Let your body do what it wants to and tell your DH that his job is to make sure nobody pesters you unnecessarily throughout the process. He'll love the idea of "me man, protector" in the run-up, but in reality on the day he'll be far, far more apprehensive than you! Gosh... you know what - I would love to be able to experience that kick-off moment again... and the birth, to be honest. I remember both times really well - with my first, I lay in bed for a while with the idea finally dawning on me that it was It. Second time around, I was 8 days overdue, so it wasn't before time and I couldn't get the grin off my face!
