Hello,

I have been having middle back pain on and off since I found out I am pregnant. I am 10 weeks now and the pain is back and it worries me. Has anyone else experienced back pain so early in pregnancy? I have an appointment with my doctor in 2 weeks time but just wanted some reassurance in the meantime.

Thanks,

Thanks Sami for the suggestion. I will try the heat pads tonight. Cakes, mine is middle and sometimes lower back, it gets worse at night when I don't seem to find a comfortable position.

You can also try using some of the heat pads the ones that warm up in the micorowave, I have a whiplash injury in my neck and it seems to have gotten worse since i got pregnant. I am also getting pyhsio as it is supposed to help.

Thank you ladies. This is reassuring. I can't wait for a pregnancy massage in the second trimester:)

I experienced back pain in my pregnancies, even early on. It's pretty common as the pregnancy hormones make all of your ligaments relax. Try to take it easy, have some paracetamol and book in for a mother to be massage at Sensasia. Congratulations! :)

Hi Perla. Congratulations on your pregnancy. At the moment you have a huge amount of progesterone in you r body which relaxs the smooth muscles. This will probably start to drop a bit in the next few weeks, so hopefully your back pain will improve. Make sure your posture is good just now, and when sitting down use a small cushion or rolled up towel to give the small of your back support. HTH
