Thanks twin butterfly :)
However my cramps are quite frequent. Especially when Im sleeping and need to change position, I can feel sharp pangs in the incision area. Is that normal too?
TIA
Do you know what that sounds like to me??? Exactly as I felt after I had my appendix out. Lol...different ballgame, I know!
My GP told me I had an "adhesion"...a band of scar tissue internally that can attach itself to an organ and cause (in my case anyway) extreme sharp pain during certain movements.
I'd say there's nothing 'normal' about your particular pain and you might want to have a chat with your GP or OB.
My adhesion righted itself with time, but more severe ones may require surgery.
I'm not sure, with the surgery being so long ago I would think at this stage you have scar tissue and I'm guessing the Arnica is more for swelling, bruising etc but truthfully its not something I know anything about. Maybe a physio-therapist could help?
As far as lack of exercise, apart from chasing a toddler around the house and a bit of walking this winter I do none which is probably why I still have my baby-belly :(
I did have a maid once who had quite bad pain 3 years after her c-section and I think they told her it was because she had basically gone back to work (not for me) and done heavy lifting etc which had pulled at her internal stitches
Hi Kiwispiers :)
Glad to hear from you. Well I was thinking maybe the LACK of exercise could be one of the reasons. Its a stretch and pull sort of pain. Sorry just can't find the right words to describe it. Someone on this forum once mentioned some arnica pills for faster healing. Any ideas on that?
TIA
The only pain I have from my c-section (18 months ago) is a slight tenderness on the scar itself if my baby kicks/stomps on it while cuddling/nursing. Never any stabby/crampy pulling type pain when moving. I'm guessing that regardless of how it looks from the outside there could be tenderness if the healing internally is slower but I'm not sure if that is a sign anything is wrong if if you are just healing more slowly than I did? (sorry not much help)
I had very little pain anyway (and pretty much none at all from about 4 weeks post surgery) but everyone seems to heal differently. Do you exercise a lot or do anything strenuous that might be putting pressure on the scar?
Thanks twin butterfly :)

Yes, it is normal.
The cramping normally comes just before your periods but it will eventually disappear. I had it for some time (years) after undergoing surgery of the uterus to remove fibromas and now, after a recent CS i do not feel any of it so it could be that it happens after your first incision only?
In any case, I would not worry about it but if it makes you feel better, get a third opinion.
Hi Ladies,
I had a C - section more than a year back and it still hurts sometimes. Its a sort of cramps. I've visited 2 gynac's and have been reassured that the healing is good. Am wondering if any of you ladies, still feel the pain.Is it normal? Do I need another check up? any advice.
TIA
