hahahaha here comes all the dirty little secrets lol, although i prefer to call them tips heheheheh
OK so one really bad one that i forgot to mention is when I bought some laxatives and when home i kept all the shopping on the ground to run to bathroom, when i came back ds opened the box of the laxatives and managed to swallow 2 of them *_*
the best part was that i had over 5 bags on the ground yet he found only that one haha.
i got soo scared and he pooped for 3 days like crazy hahahahaahha
hmmm... swap that for Panadol Extra, as wot happened in our family (DH left some on the table without me knowing)... DD [i'>obviously[/i'> found them and started popping her new "sweeties" as I was hanging out the washing. I deduced that she'd probably taken 3, so whisked off to A&E. Thankfully apparently you need to have about 10g of paracetamol before it starts getting dangerous, but seeing her on a hyper caffeine high did lighten the mood - her jumping up and down on the patient's bed with a broad grin on her face shouting "hello another doctor!" as the paediatrician came in.
hahahaha yes honey ur not yet in the bad moms club lol
dont tell me thats the only thing ever happened? *_* that would make me feel like a really really bad mother hahaha
I stuffed DS so full of vegie chips on a recent car ride home that he vomited all through the car 2 blocks from home, but they were the organic all natural -ones so Im only semi-bad right?

Ok, here goes. dirty little secrets that will tar me for ex pat woman life:
I often in mornings give my son a muffin for breakfast
- check. If I'm running late because we slept in or I have to get my nephews to school on time and don't want to go all the way home, DD happily munches on a muffin as we do the grocery shop.
put mickey mouse club house on my cellphone for him to watch which gives me about one extra hour of sleep.
- check=-) Or DVD in the laptop.
i've let him play over an hour in the tub so I can finally get to cut my nails and pluck my eyebrows
- check, but I was reading the latest Sookie Stackhouse novel, for shame, for shame.
i've bribed him with chips so he would stay calm in his stroller while i do the grocery
- check, but only the those ones that look slightly healthier because they have less colouring, I swear!! Oh, also fruit sticks, raisons, crackers.. pretty much anything that will let us finish without me losing my mind.
Will add:
After breakfast, somehow she always manages to find the one piece of toast on the floor I've missed. Secretly, I've considered just throwing the whole lot on the floor because she seems to like it better after she's thrown it there.
There is more, will do some more thinking
Hello.Again.Kitty. ive lost my son in moe. I was at costa and well with soo many mommies there all chatting and i kept an eye on ds but just had to check something in my bag and before i knew it he was gone, I went crazy worried as he loves the escalators and they were near, than there was the toy store, there was the magic planet, that candy stand. my heart was beating faster than that of a mouse and in the end i found him in magic planet. those stupid ppl let him in thinking he some how got out of the playground *_* was soo ready to kick their ass although I know i got me to blame for it really.
I went through **** those 10 min searching for him and when i finally got him i was soo mad and still scared that I sat him down make him look me in the eye and told him that if he ever runs away from me I would take him to the gypsies and sell him to them and he would never see me again.
well some how for some reason he never ran away again since than :D ahhahaah
ive learned him also since he was 19 months how to open the tv. and he now even knows how to change channels so he keeps on changing till he gets his cartoons ahhahaahah
Oh yes, there are so many examples. My bad habits started when my son was 7 months old and could hold his own bottle. Just to get 30 minutes extra sleep in the mornings, I used to put the bottle in his bed at night and he would wake up, see it and drink it himself..... ahh but the extra 30 minutes in bed was lovely.
I also bribe my children with breadsticks vs good behaviour in the supermarket and by the time we get home they are not hungry!
Oh goodness... I've racked up so many!
The latest being that I've taught my eldest how to turn on the television so that she doesn't drag me out of bed and some unearthly hour.
I have a stash of breadsticks in my bag whenever we go shopping and pull them out like a trump card when it all gets a bit too much. I have also been known to lob them at the kids in the back seat of the car when I'm driving on the motorway and they're screaming at me.
With 2 kids 21 months apart, I have been known to fall short of having 24/7, 360 degree vision. Best one was when I was chatting to friends, DS was about 18 months old, playing in the sand, chat chat, mention DS, look to where he was... gone, look around and then look up... oh, there he is, teetering at the top of the climbing frame! Oops, Bad Mummy! DD sleeping in the buggy (same afternoon), chat chat, mention DD, point, ah, gone... look around and she's wandering around wondering where she is. Bad Mummy! Saying goodbye (same afternoon - should really write this one off), 2 kids, check check, chat a little, look for kids... check... oh, ah. Friend points out that DS is being carried by a member of staff... turned out he was halfway to the pool. Speedy little mite!

I didn't mention as well as being naked, he was soaking wet and covered in mud because I was letting him play under the sprinkler while I cleaned out the fridge. Good vit D absorption though right?
Luckily for him he hadn't managed to bite through the chilli with his 4 little teeth.....was quite upset when I took it off him.
haha omg. chilly, is the poor little one ok.
mine last night managed to reach to a bottle of fludrex and opened it and spilled it all over the table than started licking it.
and my son also often runs naked around, he loves it and i dont see any harm in it
these are not "tricks", but as far as confessions, I left the dishwasher open by accident the other day, came home with 1 year old DS and put him on the floor while I checked my emails, it was suspiciously quiet and I ran into the kitchen to find him waving the carving knife like a light saber.
yesterday skyping my dad. again the silence, I found him in the rubbish bin in the kitchen, he had somehow found and put a whole green chilli in his mouth!
and right now, while I'm typing this, he is crawling around naked, hmm, better deal to him......
ahhaha omg abby_n_christina the beans trick is good but knowing my son he will just mash them all into my carpet and than tell me to clean up *_* hahahaha
Im buying now a toy kitchen as he is also always in kitchen with me and shouting that he wants to cook ahhahahaha
the pinching well ashamed ashamed but yes I also did it when I had 2 days of no sleep and we were waiting in the hospital for our turn yet some ppl some how were allowed before us. it did the trick and we got to get to see the doc withing 2 min lol
from the diaries of the less-than-perfect mom:
"Threw a whole pack of kidney beans on the living room floor and told my DD to pick them up... just to give me enough time to chop all the veggies and finish off my cooking uninterrupted!" :) i'm a horrid sadistic person but i was going absolutely mental with her getting in my way in the kitchen!
"Pinched a quiet DD so that she created an absolute ruckus at the airport to speed us through passport control" i know i know i'm terrible... but was absolutely desperate after a 9hr sleep deprived economy flight!
Love it! This has given me my first laugh of the day....thanks! Will store those two away in the memory bank for future use with DS
;) We did find that he was pretty useful getting us through passport control on our trip last month, he was very grizzly and they sped us through which was super!
so I know we all want everybody to think we are perfect and we all know that we aren't perfect at all.
I know I had my share of bad parenting but we do what we can to get us through every day.
being almost always alone at home with my son I often in mornings give my son a muffin and put mickey mouse club house on my cellphone for him to watch which gives me about one extra hour of sleep.
i've let him play over an hour in the tub so I can finally get to cut my nails and pluck my eyebrows
i've bribed him with chips so he would stay calm in his stroller while i do the grocery
now i know im not the only one. so was wondering what other tricks are there. who else has done something out of desperation
there must be some of your post that got deleted by mistake... where are your confessions??! ;)
abby_n_christina - pinching? hahaha! you mustve been exhausted to even think of it! lol.
cant post my confessions - the linch mob will be round to take away my kids!
