Hi, is there a coffee morning tomorrow in Marina mall? I finally have a day off and would love to meet some new mums-to-be. edited by Lieks81 on 03/12/2014

Yes, we enquired about Zahra as well, but we did not find the rates very reasonable. C Section as per them was 22000. Just considering worst case scenario. We thought the Dubai branch would have delivery but apparantely they do only Antenatal there :( We found the Antenetal package in Al Rafa to be quite reasonable as compared to other hsopitals 4000 - From week 12 to nine months. We enquired in Baraha Hospital. They do not have antenatal packages as such but the delivery rates are same as in latifa. Normal - 7000 C Section - 10000 Now we are back to square one in deciding where to go :( Hi .. I m due in Dec and dont have any insurance .. we did chk wid Zulekha hospital dubai which is 7500 for normal delivery. . But did not get satisfactory feedback abt d doctors der.. I booked with GMC hospital in Ajman now.. reasonable price nirmal delivery is 4400 and doctors are good too mayb u can chk der.. n btw rafa/aster in cheaper but they don't have NICU facility good luck n congrats

Dr. Elsa will be moving out of City Hospital to open her own clinic. If anyone finds out the name of the clinic, could you please post it? Does anyone recommend any good ob-gyn at City Hospital or Mediclinic?

Hi Crayon & welcome to the group! We share the same due date! I am delivering at City Hospital though. :) I've not heard of Dr Nirmala but Al Zahra seems to be a very pro natural birth hospital so you're in good hands for a VBAC. It's my first pregnancy and that's the same for many us of who attend the coffee morning on Thursday at Marina Mall. Come if you are free and always nice to meet new mummies to be! Ruby xx If you're free, come down and it Look forward to seeing you

Hi Abet! The busiest coffee morning for Dec Mums is Little More Cafe, Dubai Marina. Come on down and meet us once you're on maternity leave. Friendships are blossoming! There are other working Dec Mums in the group.. So we meet up for Pilates on Saturdays and also doing a Saturday brunch soon :)

Hello everyone and good afternoon, I am new to expatwoman and I need your advice. I am pregnant, in week 34 now. My doctor just told me that she is traveling in November and she needs to transfer me to Dr. Samah in Medcare. I was supposed to deliver in City Hospital with my Doctor, but now that she's traveling she is advising me to go to Medcare with Dr. Samah. I have asked around about Medcare, people said it's an Ok hospital but none of the ladies I discussed with had a good experience. They give you a sharing room with other people, which will not give you enough peace to sleep after long hours of labour. Can you give me your opinion about both the hospital and Dr. Samah. Thank you Dear jogee My friend is pregnant, due in january 2015 and followed up with Dr. Samah. She says that she is good and she likes her, but I have a different opinion about the gynecologist for couple of reasons although I don't follow up with her. 1- she didn't prescribe iron supplement for my friend, so she ended up having anemia (7 months pregnant now). 2- my friend had a planned ultrasound with her and during the ultrasound, my friend asked her if the baby's head is big as his father ( kind of joking with her husband during the scan )Gyn. Replied yes iit's bigger than it should be. And that she can have early delivery. So if my friend hadn't asked she wouldn't know. In the end my friend changed her birth plan and decided to give birth back home.

Any December due mommies who live in the Motor City area and would be keen to do a meet up in the afternoon/evening or know of any happening? I work full time so can't make the Mercato coffee mornings.

Hey Ruby Thanks for your kind answer! You're right, i should explore other possibilities. I will ask about Dr. Elsa, i've heard about her from other friends as well. Please let me know if you hear anything new about dr. Samah also. Thanks again Cheers J.

Hi Jogee, Welcome to the December club! ;) I've heard both good and bad things about Medcare, whereas City has a great reputation. I've not heard of Dr Samah so cannot comment there. How about asking if you could be transferred to another Doc in City? Dr Britt or Dr Elsa maybe (if you're not already with either of them). Hope this helps and all the best. Yep you guys are in for a treat! ;) xx Mama j - Welcome and hope to see you tomo at the coffee morning if you are free. I am 31 wks now (32 on Monday) and I am with you on the achy and heavy feeling. Try taking breaks in the walks and I treat myself to a nice long bath every week which really helps. I also find sitting on a fitness ball and doing hip circles takes the pressure off. Ruby x

Brax hix - this is what I have to look forward to in the next stage! ;) Hi mama j - welcome to our group! I'm about a month behind you (I'm a Jan Mum, but the Dec Mums have kindly adopted me :) ) so I'm not yet experiencing the symptoms you're currently going through. Just to let you know though, a nice group of us meet at the Bumps & Babes coffee mornings 10am Thursday at Little More Cafe, Dubai Marina Mall. We're all first time Mums. So if you're free you should come join us! edited by CrepeSuzette on 15/10/2014

Hi ladies, This is my first time to be in a forum and I guess it's nice to feel that u r able to discuss with other moms to be some of the common symptoms we most of us can experience. I am in my 8 months / 32 weeks pregnancy with my first baby. :) My due date shall be on dec5th at this stage the baby is moving a lot and offering me some kickings every now and then lol But what annoys me by now is that I feel so heavy and the walking tired me I feel that my muscles are so aching as if I was doing bicycle for hours. Is anyone having such malaise? Thanks

Is anyone getting Braxton Hicks Contractions? I think I am...very strange feeling and tummy feels like a stone! See you Thursday, and Friday! ;) xx Ruby x I am having them also. It was freaking me out on Friday cause they were quite often, but it's very common to get them at this stage. OMG days are going by fast a few more blinks and our babies are here :-) edited by bbarmani on 14/10/2014

Went to Prenatal Yoga today at Zen Yoga and have to say, found it very therapeutic. Was a nice way to relax, stretch and feel wholesome! Instructor was Andrea and she was lovely, recommend trying her class. x Hoping to finalise changing table this week with trips to Ikea and Babies R Us. Getting panicky now that the furniture is not all here yet. :( Is anyone else starting to get a bit low/anxious/stressy? I've read its the hormonal changes to third trimester... Look forward to catching up with you guys on Thursday. x Andrea is my favorite Prenatal Yoga instructor so far. She's lovely.

@ Britgirldubai - How fun & fabulous to set up your nursery! Wise move to do your shopping before Eid kicked in also! After last Thursday's coffee morning my DH & I bought our crib & dresser/change table from Mamas and Papas. Love it! BUT.. the mattress we wanted wasn't in stock, so the sales lady talked us into buying another one. For the moment we've kept the outer plastic on - may return it as we're not so sure it's firm enough for a new born. Will go to Mothercare today to compare with their high end mattress, as I've heard it's very good. Other than that, make sure it fits nice and snugly (no big gaps around the edges) :) x

Missed you ladies too! Important plans this morning... DH & I went to Dubai Mall and ordered the furniture for the nursery from Mother Care. So pleased it's done :) (and we were aiming to avoid the Eid havoc around the corner) Wished I'd taken notes when you were talking mattresses last week, hope the one we got is ok. Looking forward to seeing you soon, hope you & your bumps are all well. Happy Eid x edited by Britgirldubai on 02/10/2014 edited by Britgirldubai on 02/10/2014
