I am 10 weeks today.had some spotting last night.rather a little bleeding and it scared me.It was not there in the morning today.but you know how it feels to see blood in preg:) I hope it dont come back. What dose of progesterone you had in 1st trimester if you remember. Take-care n thanks for your support.

Forgot to mention the pregnacare plus is the multivitamin plus an omega 3 fish oil vitamin, they sell it in the pharmacy in spinneys umm sequim, and for the osteocare is says on the box to take two a day but dr Fakih told me only one to prevent build up of too much calcium. I did occasionally have salmon but not that much, didn't eat tuna or hamour as it has high mercury, however had heard the odd tin of tuna is ok :) Mb xo

Hi sakn, I ate loads of apples, had three a day as craved them, loads of chicken, loved the chicken satay salad at spinneys by appetite, eggs are good if hard boiled, I would have them mashed on brown toast for breakfast, beef, palm hearts as snacks (loved these), hand full of almonds as snacks, cut out diet drinks and caffeine, chicken ceaser salads but with a tiny bit of the dressing and loads of veggies, I would make up a big pot of the frozen veg and eat small bowls as snacks too. Also humous with carrot sticks as snacks. Oh also for breakfast a healthy cereal like raison wheats - I would chop up an apple to go ontop. I think this was the main stuff :) Make sure you are taking a multi vitamin, I took pregnacare plus which was fabulous! I also took iron tablets and calcium (osteocare), which the dr instructed me to take because of twins. Mb xxx edited by Mummabear on 13/02/2013 edited by Mummabear on 13/02/2013

Hi hopingblue, I took the following before and during stims: Coq10 - 400 Selenium Pregnacare - this one is amazing! Larginine - 3 times a day Royal jelly - cant remember dose but high one Folic acid I also ate loads of eggs, super foods like quinoa and lentils, and loads of protein like chicken, fish etc and I tried to eat organic meats, eggs and fruit. It was like a body builders diet but I believe it really helped with my egg quality, my hubby took a male fertility vitamin and coq10 too, I ended up with 3 (5 day) blasts, in which 2 transferred and stuck and have one frozen. I took two weeks off work during the retrieval and transfers and watched only funny tv (modern family), plus watched the video "the secret" the day of my transfer :) Acupuncture is another option, I actually did it for the two failed cycles but it never relaxed me and I always felt it hurt, but a lot of women it does relax them, I didn't do it for my successful cycle. If you do choose to do it I would highly recommend Dr Ou that comes to your house, she actually told me I didn't need it and recommended me to take the above mentioned vitamins. Best of luck to all the ladies going through ivf, remember to stay positive :) Hope this helps xxx edited by Mummabear on 30/01/2013 Hi mummabear, I'm just about to get the Coq10 400mg for myself, can I buy exactly the same for my DH as I have read it is also very good for men but I just wondered if 400mg is ok for DH. Thanks!

@ hopingblue Hi,sure.I am 28years old.I had a successful ivf after failed iui n other treatment wo years back.I had preterm labour n unfortunately the twins didnt survive. After two years again i had a failed iui n the a successful ivf. I did two transfers.Dont go for more than two coz if you conceived triplet you may be asked for reduction. No there is no side effect of any medicine.Even the process is comfortable n painless too. Go ahead. If you are planning in april.you still have time to prepare your body.Have good but low carbohydrate diet.Walk regularly.n eat more proteins. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Sakn congrats on your pregnancy thats exiting I am hoping for twins too. I hoping for my 1st ivf cycle in April have too many questions if you don't mind: how many cycles you had before the BFP? How many did you transfer ? Did you have any side effects with meds? If you don't mind me asking how old are you? Hope everything goes well with your pregnancy.

Hello -i would just like to add my 2 cents worth - i agree with nicky- its a very personal choice when it comes to chosing your IVF doctor - I originally went to DGFC and although they were all lovely, i just found it chaotic and they didn't do tests which I think they should have done - i decided to go to Dr F and i found his 'no nonsense' way of doing things refreshing - his team are all absolutely lovely - i agree that they aren't great at communicating, but if you ask the questions, they answer, so i just make sure i go armed with questions ready to go - we had DD after our first successful IVF, and we are back with Fakih for number 2!

I would also like to say that Dr Fakih and his team are absolutely fantastic, I had two failed Ivf's with conceive in Sharjah and both experiences were awful, Dr fakih's clinic was so refreshing and highly professional, my third cycle went like clockwork, I now have two beautiful twin boys sleeping in the room next to me. I cannot talk highly enough about everyone that works there. I have also met so many people that have been successful with him, there is a reason his success rates are so high! I have to say even if I didn't live here I would travel back to use them again. Best of luck and hoping you have your little angel or angels soon. Xxxx

I have very good experience with fakih and his team. They are very friendly and they all supported and encouraged me. After my transfer they guided me every thing I am very impress with his team when we went for our blood test (9 day of transfer) and we were waiting for report. After 2 hours the nurse came and was smiled and then became emotional then she congratulated us. My husband saw tears in her eyes. When we meet doctor Amal and she also very happy like me. They explained every thing. But unfortunately I miscarried after 8 week . I will say hopingblue you meet fakih and his team first and then you decide as nickym1d said. Best of luck to all ladies .

Hopingblue I do have to say I honestly feel its personal preference you want to go to a clinic you feel comfortable with as obviously this is such an emotional thing to go through. Personally I highly rate and like Fakih and his team for a number of reasons including how well they all supported me while having major surgery and problems with the other hospital, I honestly felt they went above and beyond what they were required to. I've also met dr weal at dgfc, nothing negative to say about him or the clinic If you've time I'd maybe see the clinics here and see how you feel yourself Wishing you all the luck x

I am consistently surprised by how many ladies on this site recommend treatment with dr.fakih. Last year I had two failed ivf's with him. Let me start by saying that unless you have done ivf before or are a fertility expert yourself prepare yourself to do a lot of research. dr.fakih and his team don't and won't tell you anything. Doing my first ivf was a very scary time for me. Throughout the whole treatment I only met with fakih once (and that was only after chasing for weeks) and his team never took the time to sit and explains the process to me or what the next steps were. The clinic is EXTREMELY busy. You can expect to have waiting times of more than an hour for a simple follicle scan or blood test. There is a real production line feeling about the whole place. Both of my ivf's failed. After both failures dr.fakih and his team just shrugged their shoulders and said "oh well, try again". I went to my home country to see a specialist who insisted that my husband and I do a karyotype to have a look at our chromosomes. Apparently a standard test he carries out for all couples that start treatment with him. It turns out that my husband has a balanced translocation and that the chances of us conceiving a normal child are about 15% and that we would have to do a complex set of genetic tests on our embryos. Thank god I went to him before I got more shoulder shrugging and spent another 50000 aed for more impersonal, ineffective treatment from fakih and his team. On a final note, when I went to fakih to pick up my file (it took me 10 days to get them to provide me a copy) my name had been spelt wrong on nearly all of the tests. One one important hcg test, the first one to determine pregnancy had someone else's name was printed on the paper, scratched out and mine handwritten over it. If you are looking for a supportive, informative and thorough ivf treatment I would recommend that you give fakih and his team a very wide berth.
