T85 - I was on all of the medications you listed, every single last one. I know it seems a lot but it won't be forever. As another posted mentioned its not about how many eggs you retrieved its about the quality and it only takes ONE. You have a very very good chance of success! Also try to relax there isn't much you will be able to do to effect the outcome so just go with it and try to find little thins to distract you - favorite foods, movies etc. Good luck!

@T85, So far, it looks good, 2 more days and you will know how many will be viable for transfer. It really is not the quantity but the quality of the eggs. =) They harvested 19 from me, 11 were fertilized and 6 were grade A, 2 were transferred. But I did not really have a problem with my ovulation, both of my tubes were blocked, thus the IVF. After ER, I was only prescribed 2 panadol per day that I took for 2 days. Also given crinone (a progesterone cream) that I still use til today. But other than that, no other meds. We'll continue to pray for the embies and hopefully we will hear more good news in the coming days! :) :) :)

Hi ladies.. thank you for your kind words and support. I will need some more if you don’t mind :) So I went for the egg retrieval yesterday, once in the operating room they checked my identity and then gave me the anesthesia. I woke up in the recovery area, the nurses were being very helpful and caring. The doctor then came and told me that they got only 7 eggs, she said a lot of my follicles were empty and it seems I still have a lot of smaller follicles but she thought they would probably be immature so no point of collecting them at this stage. She told me she expected much more eggs but 7 is fine, but I might have to come back the next day and try to retrieve more eggs. Ofcourse by then I started crying and all were trying to calm me down and told me 7 is fine but it might just be an option to come back tomorrow. From 11 30 I was on my nerves until they finally called at 6 in the evening with the news that 6 of the 7 were mature and all looks good and that I will not have to come back for another ER ilhamdulilah (thank God) . Today I get a call that only 4 have survived till now. I’m getting worried. inshAllah all of them survive and are of good quality. Is this normal? About the ER itself, felt a little discomfort the same day of the ER, was told I can take Panadol blue if i feel I need to, so i took 2 pills towards the end of the day (8 PM). The day after (today) is more painful, I’m having back pain and cramps but nothing too bad, and I went in to work as normal. I feel I am on a lot of medication, 2 antibiotics- Flagyl and Ciprobay ((2 times a day), Progyluton pill under my tongue (3 times a day), Cyclogest pessaries (3 times a day) and Glucophage (2 times a day). in total 12 pills a day! Did everyone also take so many medicines? Again thank you for all your support. <em>edited by T85 on 20/12/2012</em>

hi T85, you don't have to worry as you will be sedated. anaesthesia will be given thru iv so you wont feel it, you will be asleep the whole time ER is done. they will keep you in the hospital until you feel ok. You will be feeling bloated, but just rest it off for the rest of the day. DON't worry about the quantity, its the quality of eggs that counts. Good luck on your ER! wishing you success ahead!

Hi everyone.. here is my update I went yesterday for a checkup, during the U/S all seemed OK, but the doctor said my lining is looking a little bit thick and so I need to take antibiotics… she reassured me things are OK but this is just to stay on the safer side. My blood test results came back and they called me in to take my trigger shot, I was not expecting that at all. They kept telling me your ER will probably be on Thursday so I didn’t expect it. anyways I went and got the shot. My ER is tomorrow (Wednesday). inshAllah all goes well. May you please give me any tips regarding ER. I know im not supposed to eat from tonight midnight, no perfumes, jewelry, contacts… but I keep reading about extreme bloating and so on. Did anyone go through that? Another concern is the anesthesia .. I have never gone through that is it scary? and is it true that people say all their deepest darkest secrets? Please pray for me.. hope i get enough eggs and the procedure goes smoothly.

@che731, Thanks for your feedback, the back pain/cramping subside in the afternoon so i was about to go to the doctor but my friend told me that it was part of being pregnant. I'll be in the clinic on saturday, wish me luck for scanning .. hope to hear heartbeat at that time :) @nikym1d - thanks :)

@jimnbaby, I did have some back pain after the BFP. It was not cramping though. But i called my clinic to ask if i could get a massage, i spoke to one of the nurses & she informed me not to get any massages. After a few minutes my doctor called me to ask where the location of the pain & to decribe the pain. She was very concerned & told me to call her for any worries i have. I think you should call your doctor & ask. I understand your paranoia. I bought a bunch of HPTs and whenever i feel "wierd" (i had menstrual-like pains) i take one. Seeing the lines calmed me. I dont think the worries will go away. But you need to check with your doctor for your assurance. I am no expert, i did this only once & i can only share what i experienced.

hi @che731, sorry for asking you questions as I dont have anyone close to me to discuss who have undergone IVF and got pregnant, from last night, i am experiencing cramping of lower back it is tolerable but still I get worried. Did you have any such experience? I still have to wait till Saturday for the scan so I am a bit worried if cramping is normal.. appreciate your advices.:(

@plumtree, Yes, It could be implantation spotting. I did have sort of mentrual cramps during the 2WW. About the crying, its okay. I cried so many times, its not funny! ? feel free to blame it on the hormones, on the weather, whatever gets you through. Nobody really knows what we go through. And you, having been through this before, i can only respect your strength & perseverance. Hold on to the positivity for a few more days okay? My thoughts are with you daily & i am keeping you & jimnbaby in my prayers. I know it isnt much, but that we are here for you. *warm virtual hug*

Hi girls...am having a weepy 'feeling sorry for myself' day today:( Have had period pains this morning and ever so slight barely visible pink spotting and got really scared and spent morning crying....very much unlike me....I blame all the hormones I'm ingesting! I'm 8 days post 2day transfer at the moment OTD on Tuesday. I'm a seasoned IVF-er and have always managed fine emotionally....not sure why this time around I'm simply losing my mind! Here's hoping all will turn out well for everyone...including me ;)

The 2 week wait is a torture for me, everyday you look for a positive signs that will give you clues on what will be the result.. but i keep myself busy day by day. tnx for your prayers and inputs guys appreciated it so much. funny that i do the same che731 i put my phone on my lower tummy and play the don moem's songs and recited the rosary too after rhe ET. i know God will always be with us. @plum tree - yeah i also watch tv series to avoid negative thoughts. lucky that hubby prepared everything ready before going to work this morning just by my bedside all the food and meds i need for the day. thanks for your continuous prayers and i wish my journey will be as successfull as you were :)

@Jimnbaby-- Congratulations! You will be in my prayers always.. fingers and toes crossed for you! I only took 3 days off from work so lucky you that you have 2 weeks! Try to stay relax and listen to inspiring songs. I used one earphone and place the other one on my lower belly. I know they can't hear yet! But sharing that moment helped me bond and visualize that they are growing inside me. I listened to Matthew West's Safe and Sound and put it on repeat! =) Also I prayed a lot. Whenever I get a [i'>bit[/i'> of my "hysterics", I say the rosary. I used it as sort of meditation. You can use any meditation that can calm you down. Also, I watched the season 1-8 of Scrubs (one of my fave series) to distract me during the 2WW. Best of luck! Take care always!

Hey jimnbaby, congrats with the transfer. Crossing fingers and toes that u will have good news to share soon! Plan a little something every day to distract yourself. Watch ur favourite feel-good movies, pamper yourself with a mani/padi (there are many salons that will come to your home if u prefer), look up some scrumptious recepis and cook a nice meal or bake a cake. Go for 'scented candles shopping'...I love that;) Really hope everything turns out great for you. Keep us posted.
