Has anyone tried osteopathy for their LO due to treat reflux?
If so, did it help and would you recommend it? Which osteopath in Dubai should we see?

I just want to second Lauren from the osteopathic centre next to choithram. Dd had 3 sessions with her and she was truly amazing. It was for constipation though not reflux. She went back to Oz for her maternity leave back in December, so I'm not sure if she's back working there again though.

Yes.. I've tried it for my baby. She was about 2.5 monhts at the time. On medication and really very uncomfortable. I went to see Lauren at Dubai Osteopathy on Al Wasl. She's amazing! Overall I feel it helped, yes. You don't see any relief immediately unlike osteopathy for aches and pains. We did 3 sessions. At the end of the first session she was actually quite restless but I still took her to the second. Lauren was great. She explained that in the beginning there is likely to some discomfort because we are realigning the cranium (which is off for some reason and that's the principle cranial osteopathy works on - perhaps thats oversimplifying it but helped me understand.) After the 3 sessions I felt she was loads better. I can't say for sure if it was the osteopathy or the meds she was taking or a combination. I do believe it helped though, because she was taking the meds for over a month when I went, and I saw results after. What I'd say is theres no harm trying it. No negative side effects. Very gentle (Lauren demonstrated on my hands). Almost like a mini scalp massage. My daughter didn't even whimper through it - she lay there and stared at Lauren which was surprising to me because she was a very restless baby till then primarily because of the reflux. If your insurance covers it, definitely try. If not maybe weigh the benefits because its not cheap. Costs the same as an average paed appointment.
