Hi ladies

My little bubs has stared teething and can become very distressed. I've tried the dentinox gel but he can't stand it. I've tried looking for baby bonjela but can't seem to find it anywhere.

Is there anything else I can use?? I hate seeing him in pain and teethers only work for a minute.

Thanks so much in advance

My girlfriends back home swear by the amber teething necklaces. We were given one as a baby shower gift but as baby is due in the next week or so can't comment personally.

if he's old enough, give him some cucumber sticks to chew on... carrot sticks are also good!

Try boots online or amazon for 'Nelsons Teetha Granules'. I found them great when the gel seemes to have no effect. Also have a good nappy rash cream to hand as baby's bum came become very sore and red while teething. Lastly, putting a muslin cloth or facecloth into the freezer and giving it to your baby to bite down on.....

I gave calpol yesterday it helped a little which was good, but when he chewed his hands he got really upset and started biting down harder. He normally really happy but the past few days he's been a little grumpy :-( can't wait till it's over with.

I didn't find any of the topical stuff useful, if he's in pain an infant dose of paracetamol is the best relief as well as cuddles, nursing etc. DS never liked cold teethers but he would chew on a wet flannel or fruit in a safe feeder. Agree, a little dose of baby panadol (although I usually give 1/2 the recommended dose and it seems to do the trick)
